"Where did you go?" I barged into Steve's room without knocking. "If you weren't cheating, what were you doing and where did you go?"
He stood up from his bed, "promise you won't freak out first."
"Promise you weren't cheating." I crossed my arms.
"Promise." He said.
He let out a sigh, "an old friend of mine was sick and dieing."
"Was?" I asked.
"She died." He sighed sadly
I stared at the floor. " why didn't you tell someone where you were going?"
"She was a dear friend to Tony's father, and everyone loved her and as far as they knew, she died months ago." Steve sat back down.
"How old was she?" I sat with him.
"95. She was the woman I was in love with before I was frozen in the ice." Steve looked like he was about to cry.
I hugged him. What was I thinking? He was with a dieing friend, and I accused him of cheating because of my ex. I shouldn't have don't that to him. It was stupid on my part.
"I'm sorry I accused you of cheating. My ex cheated so many times. I guess he left me scarred." My heart hurt.
"Would you tell me about him? So I can know what to put on his grave when I kill him?" He was dead serious.
"Your crazy." I giggled.
"I prefer creative." He chuckled back.
"Oliver was two years older than me. He came often to the coffee shop I worked at. He started asking for my number and for me to have dinner with him. I thought he was a stalker, but I finally agreed. He was sweet and on the first date he told me he had a crush on me. I didn't feel the same way but he was the first guy to show interest in me.
"We started going out and after a month or so he asked me to be his girlfriend. By this point I had caught feelings. I noticed him getting aggressive and angry over the smallest things. I found out he was bipolar and tried to leave him but he would beat me. There were times I thought he loved me and times I knew he was using me to get what he wanted." I curled my knees to my chest. It was like my armor. I wasn't comfortable sharing so much information.
"Get what he wanted?" Steve asked, horror coming over his normally monotone face, " as in-"
"A way into the Avengers. I think he's hydra." I blurted.
