Luckily you didn't have to pester Castiel to meet your parents, he said that because it was a 'human custom' he'd be happy to partake. Within seconds you were both outside your childhood home staring at front door. Unlike him your were nervous; Cas wasn't the best a communication and it scared you to think about what he'd say to your parents.
Cas gently takes your hand as you have done many times before and knocks the door. It took a while but finally your father answers.
"Oh!" He gasps visibly shocked. "(Y/n)! Your mother and I weren't expecting you. Well come on in then... and who's this?" He says noticing Castiel at last.
"Hello Mr. (Y/l/n) I am Castiel, ang-" You cut him off with a sharp pinch.
"And how do you know my daughter?" Your father asks looking Cas up and down.
"I am her chosen companion." He says monotone staring at you.
"I'm sorry your her what?"
"My boyfriend dad." You say rolling your eyes.
"Oh... well then- I'll just go and get your mother, shall I?" With that he walks out of the room.
"That went well." Cas says beaming.
You smile and pat his hand. You can hear loud whispers and shuffling upstairs followed by your mother flying down the stairs.
"(Y/n)!" She practically screams in excitement. "You didn't tell us you were coming round! Oh and you brought a boy!" She says running over to Castiel and pulling him into a tight hug. Cas eventually awkwardly responded gently touching her back.
"Hello Mrs.(y/l/n). I am Castiel." He said after she pulled away.
"What a lovely name? Where are you from?"
"I am from Hea-" You cut him off again.
"Heagate!" You quickly cut in. "It's a small town. Probably not even on Google." You say thinking quickly.
"So Castiel, tell us about yourself." Your mother demanded softly.
"I do not understand. What do you want to know about me?" Cas asked genuinely confused.
Your father gave you a pointed look as if to say, 'who the hell have you brought home to us?'
"How old are you?" Your mother offered.
"I'm not sure."
"How are you not sure of your age! How long have you been alive?" Your father exploded.
You could see that Castiel was getting uncomfortable and you felt guilty. You felt as if you should have warned him and practice through questions your parents would ask.
"Mom, dad, can I talk to you please? In the kitchen?" You say already walking away. After a second your parents follow you.
"Who the hell is this guy, (y/n)?" Your father exploded.
"Keep your voice down!" You hush-whispered (A/N: not even sure if that's a real word but just go with it.) worried that Castiel would hear and be hurt. "He's not had the easiest life. He has no mother and his father left him and his brothers. No wonder he blocks out memories." You say. It was kind of the truth so technically your not lying.
"What are you, a therapist? You don't have to deal with his deranged childhood- he does!" Your father says whispering. You could see that he was worried about you and how Castiels issues would effect you.
"Yes but he doesn't have to deal with it alone!"
"He's got siblings." Your mother cut in.
"Who are totally M.I.A like their father. The only ones who stuck around are the arses. Out of the ones I've met only three of them are nice." You said defending Cas.
"Listen- I get that he's a little... odd and different but that's what I love about him. He's also kind, loving and he's so funny even when he doesn't understand why everyone's laughing. To be honest I don't care what you think of Cas, 'cause all that matters is what I think about him. I just want you to get on because I hope he's in my life for a long long time." You finish your speech breathlessly with your parents staring at you in shock.Eventually your parents did warm up to Cas and even laugh and joke together (even if Castiel never got them.) Your parents never actually found out that Castiel is an angel but they see how special he is.
