"Sam relax! I love you and they will too. I mean you went to Stanford to do Law! That's like working the machines at Starbucks!" You say hoping to calm his nerves.
"There's a big difference between Stanford and Starbucks (y/n)" Sam says chuckling slightly.
You were walking hand in hand down your parents street. Sam was nervous about finally meeting your parents but after a pep talk, a week of begging and legendary puppy dog eyes he finally agreed.
"Hmm... Oh really?" You say playfully bumping him with your hip.
"Yes really." He said bumping you back. You were glad that your distraction had worked as you were both stood outside your parents house and it seemed that Sam still hadn't noticed. Not wanting to worry him you text your father.
Hey dad, I'm outside. I've brought a boy- be nice. xx
Almost instantly you get a reply. On my way Kiddo x
A minute later the door opens and you see Sams face fall. You grab his hand.
"Hey dad. This is Sam Winchester." You say after quickly hugging your father.
"You brought a boy!" You hear your mother shout. Soon after you hear her practically jumping down the stairs to see.
"Well, aren't you a cutie!" Your mother yells pulling Sam into a tight hug while he awkwardly hugs back.
"Hi Mr and Mrs (y/l/n). I'm Sam." He said after your mum pulls back.
"Come in then! I want to get to know my future son-in-law!" Your mother shouts excitedly dragging both you and Sam inside.
"Their not engaged yet!" Your father calls after you.
"So Sam, how did you and (y/n) meet?" You mother said once you were in the living room.
"My dad's friends with your brother Bobby so my brother Dean and I went down there to say hi when I saw her." Sam said taking your hand. You stared at each other lovingly for a moment until your father cleared his throat.
"Bobby? I haven't seen him in years. He stopped coming round and answering our calls after Karen died. How is he?" Your mother said sadly.
"He's good. Still owns the scrap yard and he's dating again."
"Bobby 's dating?" You mother gasped in shock.
"Yeah this girl called Ellen." You jump in.
"You didn't tell us you were seeing Bobby. When did this start?"
Oh crap!
"A few months ago. I saw him and he recognised me so I hung out with him for a bit and now a visit sometimes. Anyway enough about Bobby- this is about Sam. He went to Stanford." You say shooting an apologetic glance at Sam.
"Stanford? That's a great college! What did you study?" You mother said accepting the change in subject.
"Law but I left half way though the course." Sam said avoiding eye contact.
"Why?" You father asked.
"My girlfriend at the time was murdered and staying there made it harder to deal with." Sam said squeezing your hand. You saw your parents share a look.
Your mother obviously loved Sam from the start and immediately thought of him as her son.
Your father liked Sam more and more as they got to know each other and soon enough after meeting they'd watch the game and drink beer together while you and your mother talked in the kitchen (or) watched with them
