[Natsu]
My smile faded as Lucy walked out of sight, and the night air seemed to still. Everything around me shifted in feeling. It's as if everywhere Lucy goes there's a new, happier and lively vibe, but once she's gone it's dull and dim. Even the moon doesn't seem so bright anymore.
The streets began to clear of people, and I decided to stroll on home. When I passed right by Levy's bookstore, McGarden's Book Garden, or some weird name like that -- I didn't bother to double check -- my back pocket was taken over with a loud vibration of the phone lacrima. I blinked and was a little shocked someone would text me at this hour, then pulled it out of my pocket, holding it before my eyes as the screen lit up after I double tapped the screen.
Lisanna 9:48pm
Hey, where r u?
I honestly debated whether or not to respond, not feeling in the mood to talk to her right now. I sighed and tapped the notification before typing in my 4-digit pass code which then opened the messaging app.
In--
Even before I could continue typing, my call screen appeared with large print "LISANNA STRAUSS."
I sighed softly again, and clicked the large green button then pressed the phone up to the side of my face and spoke, "Hello?"
"Hey, where are you? I came by your house and you weren't there."
"Lisanna, I'm out in town."
"What? Why?"
"I was out with... a friend."
"A friend?"
"Yeah, but I'll be home in a few minutes, Lisanna."
"Okay, just checking up on you."
"Oh, okay, I'll talk to you soon."
"I love you, Natsu."
"Love you too."
And that was it. I hung up, I never cared to be on the phone longer than I have to. I just don't like it, much rather have it in person.
After continuing down my path, I had just turned a corner before jumping back when I heard a loud crash, which sounded like someone just hurled three trash cans from afar, and a yelp from a female. After regaining my composure, I ran forward to see what happened out of adrenaline and natural curiosity.
Running forward about a hundred feet or so, I looked down an alleyway to find two trash cans, a bunch of trash that seemed to be a week old or more, and a hooded figure lay still on the ground.
"H-Hey!" I exclaimed, "Are you okay?"
No answer, they continued to lay still.
Uh, oh..Are they dead?
I crept forward, my curiosity peaking. I glanced and saw a short wooden rod and I grabbed it, then continued inching forward. I jutted the rod out, softly poking the figure a couple times before setting it down. They didn't respond.
Uh oh, they are totally dead. D-E-D dead... Oh await, dead is...Not.. Oh whatever! Point is, they aren't responding!
I gulped, and lifted up the hood that blocked my view of the figure. What I discovered shocked me.
"Lucy?"
There she lay, completely knocked out with banana peel on her forehead. If this wasn't so shocking, I would be laughing at how ridiculous she looked.
But this isn't funny. What was she doing out here? Even when I looked at her face as she lay on the alleyway ground completely knocked out, she looked exhausted.
"Well, I can't just leave her here..." I muttered aloud to myself and I decided it would be best to get her off of the ground, I lifted her up into a bridal-style carry position.
She reeked of garbage now, I just hope she didn't hurt herself too badly. There will definitely be questions in the morning.
"Come on Lucy, let's get you home." I said softly, her head lay limp on my shoulder as she was succumbed to sleep.
***
And I carried her home, it's not like I had an option not too. When I reached the door, I somehow managed to unlock it one-handedly.
I guess I'm just that awesome, not to brag or anything.
After opening up the door, I gently lay her body down on my sofa before going over to my bed and getting it all set up. I then shifted her body from the sofa to my bed and pull the blankets up to her chin. She finally looked at peace, and that made me feel better that she's comfortable now.
Deciding it's best to sleep on the sofa, I grabbed the extra throw blanket I had and snuggled up on the couch after shutting off the lights. The only thing illuminating the room was the dim moon light shining through the blinds.
Not long after getting all relaxed, I also submitted to a sleep.
It was at dawn that I woke naturally, and I rubbed my eyes. My mind puzzled as to why I was sleeping on the sofa before looking over at my bed, noticing the sleeping blonde girl.
"There's a sleeping girl in my bed..."
I sound like I am in "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" or somethin'.
"Lucy..." I muttered, realizing who that is.
Then, my mind was flooded with the memories of the events that took place yesterday.
Sighing heavily, I got up and grabbed a towel and an outfit to get dressed in before heading into my bathroom. I turned on the hot water and got into the shower.
As I stepped out after rinsing off, I began to get dressed. As I just finished slipping on my sweatpants, I reached for my shirt before I heard shifting in the other room. I froze. Not a moment after, I heard a yelp of pain before a hard thud.
Not wasting time, I quickly opened the bathroom door and saw Lucy on the floor, groaning about her hip. She tensed as she heard the squeak of the door hinge and silence blanketed the room.
Soon, she lifted her head and her chocolate orbs widened at the sight of me.
"Lucy.." I muttered her name.
"Natsu?"
