Chapter 13

[Natsu]

I felt myself awaken to the blinding light of the sun in my eyes. I sat up, and rubbed my left eye just like a child would if they were tired and I just stared forward, at the blank wall.

After a moment of staring at the blank wall infront of me, I turned and climbed out of bed. I put on a different kind of outfit today. Just a casual plain red t-shirt with a pair of knee-length, tan colored shorts. My scarf still laying gently and comfortably on my shoulders. I put my phone lacrima in my back pocket and fixed my spikey hair in the mirror. I grabbed my wallet that sat on the top of the dresser and headed out, I decided to skip breakfast today. As I made my way, I checked my phone to see what time it was.

11:19AM

"Jeeze.. I slept in too late." I muttered to myself as I reached the main streets of Magnolia.

"Natsu!" A girls voice sounded, I looked up to see Levy walking up in front of me waving her hand.

"Hey Levy." I said casually as a gave her a light smile.

"Whats up? Going somewhere?" She asked and I shrugged.

"No where in particular...Oh, I have to ask you a question though."

She raised an eyebrow, "Yes?"

"I'm looking for someone who came into Magnolia recently, her name is Lucy...Have you met her or seen her? She's blonde and she has--" I acted like I didn't know she met her.

"--Oh! Lu! Yeah, we're great friends. She's over at my appartment staying with me since she didnt have anywhere to stay."

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah, she's pretty awesome if you ask me." Levy giggled.

"Yeah, she's somethin' ... Do you mind if I stop by your appartment to visit her?" I asked, rubbing the back of my head.

"No, not at all! Just knock and I'm sure she'd answer..." Levy looked down at her watch and sighed. "Im sorry, I'm late getting to my book store, I'll talk to you later!"

Levy began walking and she waved breifly. I began walking to Levy's appartment. Once I reached Levy's appartment, I gently knocked on the door and I waited for an answer at the door.

"Coming!" Lucy's voice sounded quietly behind the door. Soon, I heard the locks click and she opened the door.

She was in back shorts and a purple shirt at the moment, I assumed she didn't get her outfit for the day on yet. I smiled at her.

"Hey, Lucy." I said, continuing to smile. Her eyes widened and she stared.

"Natsu? What are you doing here?" She asked. I blushed a little and rubbed the back of my head as I avoided looking into her eyes.

"I came to check up on you..." I said, "I just wanted to make sure if you were okay."

She gave a sheepish smile, "Im okay. Thank you for checking up on me...Uhm, did you want to come in?"

"Oh, uhmm..." I thought about it but I shook my head, "N-No...That's okay. I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay."

She gave a slight frown at my answer but then she nodded, "Alright...Well thank you, Natsu."

She begn to close the door in front of her giving me a light smile and an idea popped in my head and I put my hand on the door and pushed, preventing her to close it all the way.

"Wait," I said, she gave me a surprised and confused look, "Why stay in doors all day? Come out to the city with me."

She considered it for a long moment and she gave me an excited smile, "Alright! Stay here, I'll be right back."

She shut the door and I waited outside for her. I shifted my weight after a few seconds had passed then I looked casually at the people walking along the sidewalks in the distance. As I waited, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched. I looked behind me, then side-to-side. As I looked around with my eyes, the door opened again and Lucy stepped out and my gaze turned to her. She looked really, really pretty. Her blonde hair was braided over her left shoulder, She had an oversized, faded light pink pullover scoop neck sweater with black leggings and knee-high black boots with a inch of heel.

"Wow.." I said quietly and she tilted her head.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked.

"No, not at all." I shook my head and I gave her a flashy grin. "You look great, that's all...Did Levy let you borrow some clothes?"

"Oh," I noticed a tint of pink upon her face and she smiled gently, "thanks...Yeah, she did."

I turned towards the street and looked back at her, "Shall we go?"

She nodded in response and we began walking in the streets of magnolia. We stopped at various shops and I bought her a few accessories she loved along with a few outfits. We also stopped at a cafe and got a cup of hot chocolate since neither of us like coffee. As we sat outside in front of the cafe, we chatted.

"So, Natsu...How's things with Lisanna?" She asked. I fell quiet, but then I sighed.

"We broke up, turns out she was cheating on my with a guy named Bickslow..."

"O-Oh! Im so sorry!"

I shrugged, "Eh, it is what it is..."

"Natsu don't say things like that." Lucy said, crossing her arms as she gave me a displeased look.

"Eh?" I gave her a confused look. "Are you mad at me or something? What's that look for?"

"No, Im not mad at you...But when you love someone, you shouldn't just hide your feelings away when they hurt you. She cheated on you, Natsu, that's a big deal. If you just shrug it off and let them do that to you...It's just wrong. I think you-"

"--What do you know?! You haven't loved anyone, you've been locked up in a house!" I felt my feelings and temper snap. I gave her a cold stare. She just gave me a shocked expression but then she averted her gave somewhere else and shook her head.

Crap I went too far...Dammit Natsu, what's wrong with you? How could you say that to her?

"I...I don't know anything...Im sorry." She apologized.

I sighed a bit and shook my head, "No, I'm sorry Luce, I went too far..."

"But you're right...I've been locked up in a house, so how could I know?" She still avoided looking at me, her tone soft.

"No, Lucy." I said, "Don't think like that. I went too far by saying something like that...It does really hurt, and just yesterday she was crying and yelling at me for thinking I cheated on her..."

"I'm sorry Natsu that happened to you."

"Thanks." I nodded, and I stood up and offered her a hand. "We should get going, it's almost dusk."

She looked to the horizon and saw the sun about to set and she nodded and took my hand. "Lets go."
