CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
"Dumbledore's Death"
Months had passed since the talk with McGonagall. And Aurora knew that Draco was struggling still, that he had been locked into a dark place again but this time, he channeled everything into whatever he had been doing with the vanishing cabinet in the Room of Requirement.
Many of strange things had been happening at the school over the course of the last few months, including even Ron being poisoned. Which gave horrid flashbacks to Aurora. Seeing Ron laying lifeless in the Hospital Wing, it reminded her so much of when it was her laying there.
Another girl had been sent to St. Mungo's and had just returned this last week after being cursed by a necklace that was intended for Dumbledore. The poison that Ron had drank, also had been intended for Professor Albus Dumbledore.
Aurora had kept quiet. She had an odd feeling that it had to do with whatever Draco was doing, but she refused to ask. Seeing as what she had already known, seemed to be more than she should have known.
It was then she had been walking through the corridor and noticed Draco running toward the bathroom. Harry following behind him, with his wand at the ready. Aurora panicked and ran directly to her father, who was approaching the other way.
She hadn't spoke much to him since she had overheard his fight with Draco at Christmas, but Snape would help her. Snape would stop her brother and her boyfriend from dueling it out in the bathroom.
Before she could speak the words to her father, there was water pouring out from the bathroom and screams. Another student running out, and shouting. "They're hexing each other!"
Snape ran, his cloak flowing behind him and Aurora nearly tripping over her own two feet, pushing her father out of the way as she stepped in inches of water that flooded the entire bathroom.
In the center, Draco laid sprawled out, blood pouring from his face and chest. His chest rapidly moving up and down as he gasped for air and his lips turned blue.
"DADDY! DADDY PLEASE! SAVE HIM! HELP HIM!" Aurora screamed and clutched onto him.
Had this been what Draco felt when Aurora was near death? When she collapsed into his arms, bleeding?
The entire world had stopped in that moment. Time had came to a complete halt and there was no sound but Draco's breathing and the strained and tired beating of his heart. She kissed his head, calling his name, talking to him so he'd know that she was there.
And like the sound a song, her father uttered a spell, a spell that sounded as though he was singing a low hum. The bleeding slowly stopped but Draco still had gashes across his torso. His shirt soaked and ripped to shreds as he laid there sobbing.
"Can he hear me?" Aurora asked her father. "TELL ME!"
Severus nodded slowly as he continued the spell.
"Draco... Draco please, please, don't leave me... Don't leave me alone in this world! It's supposed to be you and I, you and I always, don't you know that? You promised me- You promised me we'd be together!" She sobbed.
"I- I..." Draco tried to speak but soon his eyes rolled back, and they shut. His body limp.
"NO!" She screamed in terror. "NO! NO! DRACO! PLEASE!"
"He's not dead, don't worry." Severus muttered. "He's only fainted from the pain."
Severus then scooped Draco into his arms and carried his limp, blood soaked body to the Hospital Wing.
It felt as though her heart was in her throat. Every step vibrated in her ears and bile burned her throat.
The moment Severus had placed Draco down into the bed and Madam Pomfrey began to attend to him, Aurora grabbed the trashcan aside the bed and began retching. For nearly 10 minutes she retched, until her own body felt limp and the room started to spin. The more is was spinning, the darker it got and suddenly she could only see stars.
