"You know, for someone as athletic as you, miss Lacrosse Captain, you kind of suck at this."
It was a picturesque summer evening in this part of the country as the golden hour sun rays hit the cascading water of the artificial stream of Jasper's Trikru Mini-Golf. The weather was ideal; since it was around eight-thirty, the day's heat had cooled down enough that one could comfortably wear a pair of jeans but not so much that wearing a long-sleeved top would be necessary. A slight breeze gently ruffled the leaves of the trees and the needles of pines planted all around the miniature golf greens, a pleasant relief from the heatwave that had been going on in the last two weeks.
The place was packed, as Lisa predicted it would be at such a time and under such wonderful weather conditions. The lines at the beginning of each green hole were considerable, especially since a lot of the customers came in large groups, which meant that they occupied the field for a long time before moving on to the next one.
On any other day, and with any other person, this would have bothered the seventeen-year-old brunette quite a bit.
But today she did not care that completing the map would probably take at least two hours.
As she glanced back at the smaller girl with shoulder-length, faded blonde hair who was looking at her with teasing, gentle cocoa-brown eyes, Lisa could not even take a resemblance of offence at her companion's words.
She could only widen her dopey smile as she walked until she was facing the girl, tenderly combed her hand through a lush and voluminous mane, and adoringly pressed her lips to the other girl's cheek.
"I am not the one who took nine hits in a par three. But sure, I suck," the brunette dressed in a casual pair of light blue jeans and a white crop top teased back.
Snorting, the one who wore beige cargo pants along with a baby blue crop top and white Fila's, snaked her arm around the taller girl's waist as she pressed her cheek against the brunette's.
"We're both terrible mini-golf players."
Lisa embraced the blonde's shoulders with her arms before laying a loving kiss on the shorter girl's forehead, resulting in Lisa's classmate hugging her waist tighter with both arms this time.
"Thank you for taking me here tonight," the girl who had a mark of a darker shade of brown in her right eye said.
The lacrosse player shrugged casually. "Meh, I did not have anything better to do, anyway."
The girl who was previously hugging her took a step back from their embrace and playfully slapped Lisa's shoulders. "Don't be an asshole."
The junior year student with green eyes laughed brilliantly as she reclaimed the pouting blonde by enclosing her arms firmly around the small of her back.
If they were causing the line at their current field to grow even longer, both young women did not attempt to care.
"It was only a joke. You know there is nowhere and no one I would rather be with, Costia."
The aforementioned girl bit her lip as she smiled so widely her brown eyes crinkled, her head tilting to the side as she looked down and away to hide her blush.
Lisa, of course, saw everything, and could not help but think that this girl in her arms was the most beautiful and precious sight she had ever had the chance to see in all her life.
If it was possible, the older Manoban sibling felt her feelings for her deepen even more than they already were. She wanted nothing more than to make this girl hers .
