Chapter 38

   Jahnoi's pov

1 year and 6 months later...

I was still on cloud nine after my graduation, extremely proud of myself and feel like I've accomplished something. It had been a busy Thursday and my sisters, Kady, Jasper's sister who is Razor's babymother, I, Jasper and Kelm opted to go to KFC. The drive tru line was too long so we parked and went inside, it was good to not have to hide that much here in St. Ann's Bay but I was still cautious. So we sat near the back at a table while Kelm and Kish went to purchase the bucket of chicken.

As I sat there my eyes fall on the beautiful face of the cashier and I stood and walk up to where Kelm and Kish was in the line to have a better look at the familiar face. Kelm followed my eyes and gasp. "Bumbo!" Then as if by force Finey look right in our direction, she blinked then did a double take and seem to curse 'fuck.'

Her face was a mask of fright as she walk away from the cash register and two minutes later another woman came and began cashing. "Shi si wi," Kish says under her breath.

"When yuh reach up dey suh tell di one wey a cash sey fi call di cashier wey did dey deh before har," I tell Kelm then went outside and sat in my jeep.

My heart thumped hard inside my chest as I watch Kelm having a back and forth conversation with the cashier, he ordered and they go to the back where Timera, Kady and Jasper was sitting and exchange a few words. I kept my eyes on the back exit to see if Finey was going to leave, another woman wearing the same white top as her came and was saying something to Kelm as they went and collected the bucket of chicken.

I call Jasper before they came out and tell him that they should all go into Timera's jeep and drive off when they came out and they did with the security guard watching them and Kelm on his phone telling me that say say the other cashier's shift had ended and she had gone home. Jasper knock on the passenger door a minute later and I let him in while staying in the back of the jeep. About fifteen minutes after that Finey emerged from the back exit and began walking towards a taxi pulling up.

Jasper was out of the jeep in a flash and I drop down the window to hear him telling her that her brother has come to pick her up, she say something to the driver and he drove off after Jasper and her conversed with him. I was angry and hurt and the moment she came into the jeep and close the door I plant her two earsers. Jasper held unto me before I could give her two more and I sat back while she cried and he started the jeep and drive out of the KFC parking lot.

"Finey, direct mi to your place," Jasper say to her.

I glance at her as she continues to cry with her face turn to the window. "Gwane straight," she tells him and I was burning up inside as the directions keep going in the same direction to my house.

She tells Jasper to stop at a gate where a woman stood with a baby on the exact road I had to drive up to my house and I could not describe my feelings. The woman didn't come to the vehicle until she calls her and to my surprise the woman hands her the child and a bag. "Mi e call yuh," she tells the woman in a croaking sounding voice and the woman says.

"A'right, Bye Binoi."

Then she directs Jasper unto the other road and I was shock when the baby calls her 'mommy,' Jasper's eyes kept looking through the mirror at me as he drives slowly unto the other road. The child was a little boy and she kissed his forehead affectionately as he wrapped his small arms around her neck. I couldn't stop staring at them, especially at her. She had really leave and went to have a child for another man.
