CHAPTER 54

No one says anything as Demar curse Jahnoi and I had nothing to say either until he says. "Yuh nah learn all mi a teach yuh, cause if yuh did a learn yuh would a realize yuh dey wid one mad woman."

    I turn my gaze fully on Demar and went, "humn!" Loud enough for him to hear me and when he turns and look at me I glare at him before cutting my eyes.

"Yuh nuh si who she related to!" He says then walk off.

He should deal with Jahnoi and leave me out of their quarrels cause I did not ask him to come to South Africa, I went inside to finish unpacking the clothes and things and stayed inside for the rest of the day while the other parts of the house was being tiled. From the window I saw Jahnoi working on a house with the others and some workman a short distance away, windows were brought and put in where boards had been in place and the work went on for days that turn into weeks.

  Demar always seem to work in the evenings or early mornings, he was either running pipes in the ground or doing some kind of technical/electrical things with Fuze, Razor or some men with him. Ms. Mavis, Kish and Timera move over to their house and the room they had been staying in was decorated and furnished for Binoi and Tee-Tee. A gazebo was built on the hillside where everyone mostly gathers to relax and unwind in the evenings, cook, chat and play music.

My mother went to spend some time with her sister and when she came back she was glowing with happiness, Ms. Jennifer hugged me tightly with tears in her eyes and I was happy and sad at the same time. So much time had been lost between us, yet we seem to fit just right together. Our family will never be apart again, Dean and Cam's children will know their cousins and me and my brother's children will know them.

Apart from taking a vast amount of pictures of me, Jahnoi spends most of his time in the unfurnished room unpacking clothes to put in his store and sometimes he does so with Kish and Timera. The front of the store was built out of concrete and the back was of two small containers, it was fully grilled and was at a busy intersection close to the town. I had thought that he was having the bushes to the side cleared to facilitate a parking space, but it was more than that. A car wash was being set up to the back and and a sports bar and grill on the opposite side of where the store was.

I went into labor two hours after obliging Jahnoi with a little sex and have my baby girl ten minutes after arriving at the hospital on April 28. I got first class treatment and Jahnoi stayed with me throughout the time I spent there. Dean came to visit with her truck full of food stuffs and a beautiful wrap gift basket for me. We talk for a while and she explains how busy she is at the moment with a nursery and play park she was having built. I hug her feeling so proud of her and happy that I've meet not just anyone who I can speak freely with.

Cam came the following day with her husband and children and stayed the whole day telling me about when they first come to Africa. When they leave I feel like I am at the right place and I know no matter what my mom will not be going back to Jamaica where she will not be able to see her sister. I wasn't surprise that aunty Jennifer did not keep friends just like my mother, we were all alike in that aspect and I can now say it is the best thing for us.

  Rovena tells me Tyrel now lives at my one time home with another man and people were whispering that they are gay, but since he is her new bestie because I ditch her people better their mouths. I tell her she should plan to come and visit me when Tyrel is coming and she screams excitedly into the phone. I thought of a hundred ways to tackle Jahnoi about Tyrel and his man living in the home I had high hopes of purchasing, but after half an hour of walking around the house burping and patting Jiyone to sleep I have to admit everything works out for the best.
