63: Walk In The Haze

3rd person pov:

Dabi goes limp for a moment. As his vampire instincts take control. As Touya has given it control. Thinking that Hawks has passed and there's nothing left to go on for.

"Finally. Now let me show you what happens when you trap a hungry beast."

As dabi picks up Hawks. He smirks and chuckles.

Meanwhile, Hawks consciousness diets into the snow-covered streets of London.

Hawks:^Where am I? This seems so familiar-"

*Skreeesh- Poof*

Hawks opens his eyes to the touch of a snowflake on his nose. That's when he sees the white-haired man from before.

Touya:"Are you alright?"

His eyes soon become clear and his bright smiling face shines in the snowy sky like an angelic figure.

Hawks reaches to take his hand, and at the moment of contact. Memories flood back. All the way till the fateful night of his charm being place. While they're snuggled up on the couch. Touya says something that Hawks wasn't expecting.

Touya:"Hey Hawks. I think we should break up."

Hawks slaps dabi.

Hawks:"Fuck you."

As sherlock gets up to storm off. Touya grabs his hand.

Touya:"Not like that. I- let me start over. I want you to forget about me, but only temporarily. Once Moriarty is gone. I'll return your Memories. We can't let him realize that you know I'm still alive. Who knows, it might be romantic to fall in love all over again."

Hawks:"Yeah but......"

Dabi caresses Hawks face with one hand.

Touya:"Babe, you know that this is the only way. You couldn't act your way out of a paper bag even if you tried."

Hawks nuzzle his hand as tears fall.

Hawks:"All I've ever known is the silence of being alone. That is until I found you."

Touya:"I know, which is why I'll always be by your side. Now before I do this. I want to know your plans. Like if at anytime you want me to turn you for a chance at more power."

Hawks:"Didn't you say it was painful?"

Touya:"If it means to save you. I'll give my soul to save your life. Feed until there's nothing left. Don't waste a single drop. So that we'll be together forever."

As Hawks looks into his eyes. He begins to drift away. Only for the last moments of his memory to play.

Hawks:"No, keep me as a human. One day I'll make you human again, and we can die together while we're old and gray."

Everything goes hazey before he's met with darkness. Unable to move. He finds himself bound in chains. He lifts his head to see blue eyes looking at a blade that's being sharpened.

His throat feels dry. As fangs are drawn with the new craving that he's never felt before. He gasps for air. Only to realize that he no longer needs to breathe.

The figure steps in close. That's when hawks recognize whose eyes he's looking into. 

Hawks:"T.....ttt.- Aghok"

Hawks brief whimper of pain is muffled by the gargling of blood. As Hawks throat is slit with a silver knife.

"Now there's no one to help him regain control. This is what you get for not giving me control sooner. Now learn that humans are below us."

As Touya floats in the darkness unable to see or feel anything. He hears the outside world. As he begins to close his eyes and except the eternal slumber of his soul giving into his instincts. Something happens to jolt his attention.

Hawks smiles and utters in a shaking voice.

Hawks:"Be sure to drink every drop...... okay t....touya?"

Touya's eyes widen. As the darkness is pushed back by the light around his soul. Completely destroying the darkness forever. As touya regains his own body. He sees that his scars are gone, and his cravings for blood have subsided.

Touya:"You did it. You freed me. Now we can-"

The light in Hawks eyes begins to fade away. Yet his smile still shines bright.

Hawks:"I'm glad to see you again. If only for one more moment. Thank you for giving me space in your heart. Now I feel as if I'll never be alone again."

Touya is horrified and tries to stop the bleeding. Only to realize that there's nothing he can do. So he sends Hawks off with one last kiss.

Touya:" I don't want to be alone."

Hawks:"I'll be....waiting then........so.....we......can....... go................to-geth-er."

Hawks goes limp. That's when touya pulls the nearby fire alarm. Before throwing the now-lit lantern against the wall across the room. He frees Hawks from the bindings and lays his head on his lap. As smoke fills the air-tight room. Touya runs his fingers through sherlock's hair with a soft smile and teary eyes.

Touya:"See you soon.... my little robin."
