chapter 8

ao'nung was making his way back to the village. his plan was to finally ask you to be his girlfriend after weeks of thinking about it. at first he wasn't going to at all, but eventually tsireya convinced him. he's known you for about 5-6 months now so he thought it was the right time.

as soon as he got to the village, he made his way to his parents. he was first going to ask his parents for their permission to date the next ta'unui tashik. he really wanted you to be his mate and live the rest of his life with you but he didn't know if it was even possible.

he finally found his parents, they were in the meeting room, just talking. they noticed ao'nungs presence and greeted him. "hello father, hello mother." ao'nung said.

"hello son, is everything okay? i thought you were at a small party for marali?" tonowari asked. "i was, and i'm fixing to go back but i needed to ask you two a question first, well more of an approval for something." the boy said fidgeting with his hands.

"an approval? what for?" ronal asked. ao'nung took a deep breath before speaking. "i was wondering if it would be okay for me to date marali. i know it's a big question and i know she's the next tashik but i've thought it through before asking." ao'nung stated.

"if you did get with her my son, you would have to become the olo'eyktan of her clan, not ours." tonowari said. "who would become this clan's olo'eyktan?" ronal said with a small hiss. "okay hear me out, i know this has never been done before but if tsireya and lo'ak become mates, he's could become the next olo'eyktan."

his parents looked at him in confusion. "a forest na'vi? leading our people?" ronal asked. "i don't see a problem with it mother. you and father have declared the sully family as one of us right? and plus his father was olo'eyktan, so it would make sense for him to be olo'eyktan. he has what it takes to be a leader, plus tsireya will be happy." ao'nung stated.

ronal and tonowari looked at each other, figuring out what to do. ronal then sighed as tonowari looked at his son. "i will allow you to date the next ta'unui tashik. but you need to go ask her parents for their blessing and we need to see if jake sully and his mate will allow their son to become olo'eyktan of this clan." tonowari said.

ao'nung thanked his parents. he was so happy that his parents accepted. now he just needed to ask the sullys and your parents. "well shouldn't we ask the sullys first?" ao'nung said. his father agreed and they made their way to the sully marui.

when they arrived, tonowari stuck his head in to get jakes attention then nodded for him and his mate to come out. the two then walked out and asked if everything was alright.

"yes, everything is fine. we just have a question for you, sort of a big question. would you want to take this inside?" tonowari said. jake nodded and let the three into his home. as soon as everyone sat down, tonowari started speaking.

"okay so, you already know this but our kids are dating. tsireya and lo'ak." jake nodded, wondering what this is going to lead to. "so our question is, would you be okay for your son to become the next olo'eyktan of this clan if him and my daughter mate?" neytiris hands went over her mouth, her plus jake were shocked.

"wait, why couldn't your son do it?" jake asked pointing to ao'nung. tonowari looked towards ao'nung seeing if it was okay for him to explain, ao'nung nodded.

"my son wants to be with the future tashik of the ta'unui clan. if they do get together and they do end up mating, this clan will not have a future olo'eyktan. now we don't know what the future holds, so ao'nung or someone else could still become olo'eyktan of this clan. but we thought we'd ask you for your approval." jake nodded in understanding then looked at his mate and she simply nodded.

"we accept your offer. we feel like lo'ak has what it takes with a little more training." jake said. ao'nung was so happy. he had two approvals down and only one more to go. "okay, good. we won't tell lo'ak until if the time comes. we still need to ask for her parents blessing." ao'nung stated. the mated pair nodded and thanked the family.

onto the next family then.

ao'nung was nervous. sure he had his fathers and jakes approval but this was the biggest one yet. the family arrived at the home and knocked. leymot'ite, the tashik let them in. "is there something you need?" the lady asked, her husband right behind her. "we have a question, well my son has a question." ronal stated, signaling towards ao'nung.

the two looked towards ao'nung wondering what he has to say. ao'nung took another deep breath and began. "i was wondering if i could get your approval of dating your daughter." ao'nung said. the pair was a little shocked by this comment.

"you are the next olo'eyktan of this clan though." launweafte stated. "yes but i've found a replacement. i really like your daughter sir and i would be very grateful if you would allow me to be with her." launweafte looked at the boy. "this means you will take my spot." ao'nung nodded.

there was a long pause before the two looked at each other and his wife nodded at him. "i will allow you to date my daughter and become a mated pair if that is what eywa has in store for you two. plus i feel like you are eligible enough to take my spot in the near future." the olo'eyktan stated.

ao'nung was so happy. "thank you sir, really. i will treat your daughter right.. if she accepts." ao'nung stated. "you haven't asked her yet?" ronal asked. "i wanted to ask you guys first, i didn't want to ask her and then you guys turn our relationship down."

"it was the right move, my son. but you better go and ask her." his father said pointing out the door. ao'nung nodded and ran off, getting onto his ilu and going back to the spot with the biggest smile.

he eventually made it back within 10 minutes and you noticed him right away. you noticed he had a huge smile on his face as he walked up.

"why are you so smiley? what did you do?" lo'ak asked. "i didn't do anything, except ask my parents something real quick. oh, tsireya can i talk to you real quick?" ao'nung said. tsireya nodded and followed him to a spot where it was only those two.

ao'nung explained everything. how their parents accepted, how she'll be the next leader plus whoever her mate was, how your parents accepted, and even how he asked lo'aks parents for their approval to become olo'eyktan.

"okay okay so your telling me that father and mother accepted you two dating, so did her parents. and that it's possible for me and lo'ak to become the leaders of this clan? together?" ao'nung nodded at her with a smile and she immediately hugged him. "i'm so proud of you! and i'm kinda surprised they accepted to lo'ak becoming future olo'eyktan." tsireya said, smiling.

"thank you sister, but let's not tell lo'ak something that we don't even know is 100% true. you never know, someone else could become your mate. i hope not though because lo'ak has proven himself and you two are kind of cute together." ao'nung said with a small smile.

tsireya laughed, "so when do you plan on asking her?"

"later tonight." he said, looking your way and making eye contact with you.

(authors note: wooo all the parents accepted :) but will marali accept is the real question. and ik, i'm probably moving this a little fast but i have things planned and do plan on making this a long story hopefully!)
