Heart to Heart

Uzi and J had stayed in the same position though J had stopped crying and Uzi she was holding onto J for comfort. Both drones were finally approached by N who wanted to know what they were going to do.

N: I hate to interrupt you two but what's our next move?

J looked up at N part of her wanting to say something but nothing came out.

Uzi: We go back home.

J looked at Uzi surprised she looked at the drone questioningly trying to understand what she meant by home.

J: You mean-

Uzi: The spire, I want to go back there. This place it-it just doesn't feel right to me anymore especially not after tonight.

J got up and looked at Uzi with a bit of sadness, she didn't understand why she was so scared by Solver but she begrudgingly had to thank V for saving them. She wasn't going to do that right now though, Uzi was far more important to her.

J: You and V start heading out I'm going to have a chat with Uzi.

N looked at both of them a bit sad but couldn't do much as V grabbed him by the hand and started dragging him down the hallway. N didn't know if he should be scared or happy but he wasn't protesting.

J: Uzi...are you sure you want to go back to the spire I-

Uzi: Why did you call that thing Solver?

J: I-Uzi please I'd rather not talk about it.

Uzi: No. This isn't something we're just going to push aside Jade!

J looked at Uzi surprised.

Uzi: It mimicked my mom Jade! It had her voice, her face and I almost believed it. How am I supposed to just move on from that?

J: I don't know Uzi... I really don't.

Uzi: What?! Is it some horrible thing that the "old J" did?! Or are you just going to try-

J: Uzi! I may remember my time at the manor but I recognized Solver!

Uzi: Then explain!

J: Explain what?! And you have quite the nerve to demand anything from me! You went charging in before we had a plan!

Uzi: Because you haven't trusted me to take care of myself! I'm a Disassembly Drone just like you and you act like I'm not capable of hunting and it aggravates me.

J: Uzi I-

Uzi: I thought we were in this together?

J: Damnit...Uzi I'm just worried about you!

While J was standing her ground in this argument, the very idea of Uzi leaving terrified her.

J: Uzi I don't want our relationship to be hurt by this, I- I will consider taking you on a hunt but please don't leave me, I need you.

Uzi heard the last part despite J trying to whisper it and we'll she felt both relieved and sad, she couldn't leave J. The pigtailed drone was clearly desperate for love and while she wanted answers for what Solver was, it just wasn't worth ruining what she had with J.

Uzi: J I'm not I'm not going to leave you. I've given you my trust, my love and I don't want to lose that. What I do want is for us to leave and go back to the spire and maybe we can talk about this later.

J nodded and got up trying her best to reorganize herself.

J: Good now. Now don't tell anyone about that last bit.
