Chapter 10

AGNES' POV

Sadie and Pearson's argument didn't disappoint but sadly Arthur intervened and took Sadie out to Rhodes and I got dragged along too because according to Arthur 'I can't avoid the state forever'.

Sadie was great.

We hadn't spoke much at Horseshoe Overlook.

She didn't speak to many people but the few times we did speak we got along great.

I laughed as she read out Pearson's letter to his Aunt.

Arthur went to send the letter off.

"Oh so this is the town I tried so hard to avoid"
I sighed.

I walked into the general store with Sadie.

She bought herself some new clothes.

They suited her more in my opinion.

"Now we have to wait for the cowboy to get back"
I smirked.

"I'm already here"
Arthur stated.

"Oh didn't see you there Arthur"
I shrugged.

I sat in the back of the Wagon.

Some guys on Horses stopped us because we supposedly needed to pay to be here.

In Lemoyne? Who the fuck would come to Lemoyne if they had to pay to be here?

"This is what I mean Arthur, it's full of people with sticks up there fat asses here"
I groaned.

"What did you say about me?"
The stupid man asked.

"I said you have a stick up your ass, you goddamn bastard"
I snapped.

I wouldn't be that rude usually but the fact they made up that we needed to pay to go through here irked me.

The men started shooting at us.

I heard some of them shout about how it was 'Lemoyne Raider land'.

So are they just the O'Driscoll's of Rhodes?

"Oh shut up old timers"
I yelled.

I continued shooting at them.

We got them all eventually.

"Nice shooting to both of ya"
Sadie complimented.

"Yeah you too"
Arthur nodded.

"You know I'm struggling to tell which one of you two is more Wild"
Arthur admitted.

"Time will tell I guess"
I shrugged.

I got back to camp and saw Kieran speaking to Mary Beth.

I got curious and listened from a place they couldn't see me.

"So are you sweet on Agnes?"
Mary Beth asked.

"No she scares me"
Kieran admitted.

"Scares you? She's sweet"
Mary Beth laughed.

"She's not sweet, I don't know the word but it ain't sweet"
Kieran deadpanned.

"She's been nicer recently but I can't help but think she's waiting for the right time to kill me in my sleep"
Kieran explained.
