The parks and stadium are empty,
So quiet that we can hear the dust cheering for living,
Our minds sit in darkness and needed for healing,
Panic has struct us, and taken over lives we once knew.

Our leader works tirelessly to bring us comfort,
As the death toll rises, we grieve such loss,
COVID-19 gives endless sadness with full of despair,
Where is the light? Where is our freedom?

COVID-19 took our freedom,
COVID-19 made us a prisoner,
The isolated days brings so much feeling,
Sadness consuming us, where will gonna stand?

It makes us realize of everything,
There will be lost and there will remain,
But it's not the same as before,
Opportunities might close as a locked door,
Because COVID-19 around the world is still spreading.

How long it will be to become its prisoners and slaves?
No one knows, even the smartest one.
Is this our punishment that God gives?
Oh no! These tragedy must over!

But wait, every day, the sun is rises,
Everyone is encouraged to be disciplined,
Giving hope and trust to the improvement of process,
There's no time for the end of the world.

This pandemic taught us to be practical,
To think a possible ways to survive,
To our invincible villain,
Unarmed but harmful thrive.

Everything is possible,
To a coherent and being thoughtful communities,
Every dilemma will soluble,
And will open up all available opportunities.

PS. This poem was created for the group activities, an “Online Exhibition” when I was in Senior High School (2020). And also used for the spoken poetry category. As a HUMSS student back then, we were tasked to create a website where we can put everything we made that we can showcase our hidden talents. Luckily, I just found the copy while cleaning my things and decided to include it here as a remembrance.
