In the Present...

Sound effect: Whump! (A box filled with household items falls through a purple portal and onto the counter of Kiku and Kiyoshi's kitchen.)

Kiyoshi: Kiku, careful with those! Those are breakables!

Kiku: Oop! Sorry! (Kiyoshi walks by, carrying a lamp.)

Kiku: Just a few more boxes, and we'll be good to go! I'm so happy we're getting to repaint this dull room! (In Kiku and Kiyoshi's room, Kiku is putting some furniture into boxes with telekinesis.)

Kiku: I honestly don't know what the big fuss is about having to move everything out for painting. This is honestly really easy!

Kiyoshi: Well, most people can't manipulate space like we can. I'm sure that has to do something with it. (She sends a box out of the room with her powers.)

Sound effect: Knock! Knock! Knock!

Kiku: Eh, maybe. This is so exciting, though! Imagine how much sunnier our room will be once it's a nice and pretty yellow! All we need is Callie and Marie to come back with those supplies. (Kiyoshi goes over to the apartment's door, someone is knocking.)

Callie: Hey! Here's that paint you ordered!

Marie: And some rollers, some brushes, some painter's tape, and some paint thinner.

Kiyoshi: Oh, that's awesome! Thanks! (The cousins stand at the door, ready to help.)

Kiyoshi: Things are a little messy right now, but would you like to come in?

Callie: Well, that's so nice of you! (The cousins walk in.)

Kiku: Oh, hey! I never heard you two come in! Are those all of the supplies?

Marie: Yep. You should have everything you need now.

Kiku: Awesome! (Kiku walks out of the bedroom.)

Kiku: Heh heh, look at these things! They're so small! I didn't know rollers could come in this size!

Callie: Those are the ones for painting rooms. Not battle. (Kiku picks up a roller and laughs.)

Kiku: Aww, that's no fun. Anyway, thanks for this stuff! Hey, what's this bottle of stuff?

Marie: Paint thinner, be very careful with it. It removes paint from any of these tools, but it can be a bit dangerous. It can sting if it comes in contact with you.

Kiku: Got it! (She carries everything to the bedroom.)

Callie: So, I don't think I've ever asked you, Kiyoshi. How are you enjoying life in the city? I know for you, it had to have been hard adjusting to everything when you haven't lives here for long.

Kiyoshi: Well, it's going good. I haven't really thought about it much, but I guess I can't be asking for more. (They talk.)

Kiyoshi: With all of the agents being really good friends to me, my powers coming in handy a lot, and a sister to understand every little thing, I've had a nice time here. (He smiles.)

Callie: Aww, I'm glad! I was a little worried that life would still seem really strange.

Kiyoshi: Mm, not really. Everything feels like it's natural now. Besides, this life is all I've ever known. (They talk.)

Marie: But still, you don't feel like you're in danger because of being one of the agents? Or you don't feel too different than everyone else because you're unlike every single person? (She speaks.)

Kiyoshi: I mean, I guess not. Most of the enemies we've faced, I'm more powerful than them, so I feel safe. And I don't really worry about being different from other people- everyone is unique in their own way, anyway. I'm just unique in uncommon ways.
