Chapters are going to get really weird now, sorry. I'll be adding parts randomly here and there.

Sorry an update took so long. This is only a small part of this scene, I'll have the rest up shortly.

"I win!" Kilu fell into the stone wall outside the dining hall. She paused for a moment to catch her breath. Wl ran up beside her, puffing.

"That was unfair." Wl complained, "I thought we would change back from our animals at the start of the corridor." He shook his head, sweeping back his brown curled hair, so it fell behind his ears. "You changed when you were only a few feet from the door."

"Sorry Wl," Kilu grinned. "But it was your fault you changed back way earlier than me. You knew your Shiba Inu was faster." She said.

"Okay then, next time we make it fair." Wl pointed at the large wooden door, a little further down the corridor from where they'd come. "Next time we both change at the last door." He looked at Kilu. "Agreed?" he asked.

"Agreed." Kilu nodded back.

"Can you smell that?" Wl turned to look through the open door in front of them. Its large bolted wooden doors were pulled back, revealing a great hall. This was one of the largest rooms in the castle and served as a lively dining hall. Its walls were built of stone bricks, their surface cobbled and worn. At the far end of the hall, a great fireplace was built into the stone of the wall. The fire constantly crackled during the winter months. Now the cool winds of winter and autumn leaves blowing through the castle meant it was kept lit.

"Mmm, smells like fresh bread." Kilu began walking into the hall, Wl following behind.

"I hope there's some left." Wl said hopefully.

The center of the hall was filled with tables and benches. Each table seated five or six on either side and they were lined up into four large rows running the length of the hall. All the tables were filled with people. Parents, children, family and friends all mingled together, sitting around the tables. There were plates, bowls and cups set in front of every person, and platters of food sat in the center of the tables.

Only now, they were a bit depleted of food. Kitchen staff were moving through the rows collecting in empty bread baskets, meat platters and fruit bowls. "Oh no, it looks like they're cleaning up." Wl looked around in dismay. People had already begun leaving, their plates empty.

"Here they come, late again." A woman with brown hair motioned towards Kilu and Wl, laughing as she shook her head. Kilu and Wl made their way towards them.

"Where have you two been?" Another woman, sitting across the table, shook her head too. Her straight blonde hair falling from behind her ears.

"Sorry Mum." Kilu rolled her eyes and grinned at her. "But it wasn't my fault. It was Wl's." She nudged Wl with her elbow, receiving a pinch in retaliation.

"Really Kilu?" The woman laughed.

"Come on Malo, it doesn't matter why they were late." The stocky man beside Malo put an arm around her shoulders.

"I know Zwasgn." She looked at Kilu and Wl, "But I'm sure Wl wasn't the cause for their lateness." She brushed Zwasgn's arm off and reached up to sweep a hand through his dark chocolate hair.

"And why would that be?" Zwasgn asked.

"Oh come oh Zwasgn, she's your daughter too. You two both have a terrible case of lateness." Malo rolled her eyes.

"No, I don't believe it." Zwasgn winked at Kilu.

"Thanks Dad." Kilu groaned.
