Oh, man Stan is standing right in front of me; how do I explain this?
"y/n what are you doing here, sneaking out of Kenny's window? Did you two's?" He seemed disappointed to find me here, and I had no response that would make any of this okay. He saw me escaping out of Kenny's window, half-naked. My head lowers as if this answers his half-question. "Oh" is all he says. My throat starts to tighten, and tears threaten to spill out. "y/n, you know it isn't healthy to look for closure with pleasure; it isn't how you should deal with your pain." Stan seemed to understand why I did it, though he didn't seem too happy about it. "I know, I just. never mind." I was going to tell him that I haven't felt anything since her accident, but something was telling me not to. "It's ok, you're hurting; it's common, but why don't you come with us to Tweeks Coffee." I thought about it. I don't know if it'll help, but going back means going back to the darkness, so I nod my head in agreement.
Kyle, Kenny, Cartmen, Stan, and I were all sitting down in a booth while Kyle and Cartmen argue for the second time since we got here. "shut up you Jew" Cartmen shouts "shut up you big fat ass" Kyle argues back. I swear it's always the same thing they say to each other. I decide to get away from the yelling match and order something, and Kenny follows me. I see Craig behind the counter; he must be here to see and help Tweek with the shop.
"Welcome to Tweek's Coffee, what can I get you?" The same old monotone voice speaks, "Um, Craig?" I ask him, hoping to get him to see that it was me. "y/n, how are you feeling?" he asks. "Better, I'm just here to get a hot chocolate, please." I tell him, getting out my card ready to pay, "There's no need to pay this ones on the house," Craig informs me. I give him a soft smile that says thank you and walk over to the waiting bay. This gives my mind time to wonder. What if Abbey never wakes up? I should have never gone to school that day; instead, I should have stayed with her, and then none of this would be happening.
"That'll be $5.50," Craig speaks, grabbing my attention, "what! but y/n just got a free one." Kenny protests, "Fine, that'll be $9.50." I chuckle at Craig's sassy response; he really doesn't like them and likes to tease them all without showing any emotion toward them. "Fine, I'll pay the $5.50." Kenny gives up fighting, handing him the money, and he walks over to me. I lower my head, ashamed of what overcame me earlier. Stan was right that was no way to deal with my pain he seemed to know from experience. "y/n?" Kenny's voice breaks me away from my thoughts I look up and meet bright blue eyes, and I hum as an answer. "I won't tell anyone about what happened, but I've got to say I really did enjoy it and would love to continue again sometime." He sounded so sincere at first, then just had to go back to his flirty ways. Smiling, I say, "Thanks for the offer, Kenny, but I think it was just a one-time thing, and thanks for not telling anyone." He seemed a little disappointed, but he nodded, his eyes showing that he was smiling.
"Here you go, y/n," Craig says while handing me my hot chocolate; he also raises his eyebrow. I nervously smile in return, not knowing how much of that he heard. "Where's mine?" Kenny asks in his sweat voice, which does nothing to convince Craig "it'll be ready in 10 minutes." He answers coldly and walks away. I laugh and head back to my seat, where Stan also raises an eyebrow at me. He must have seen me and Kenny talking; I give him an everything is fine smile, and he looks away. Luckily, Kyle and Cartmen have stopped arguing.
Time skip:
Kyle is walking me home, and we are lost in conversation until he hits me with "How are you feeling, you know, with the accident?" Dammit, I was going so well with not crying, but here we are. "Look to be completely honest, not too well," I respond. Kyle takes that as an invitation to reach down and interlock our hands, squeezing his. I return the favour by squeezing back, and we continued walking hands-in-hands all the way back home. Arriving at my house, I notice my parents aren't home. I open the door, and Kyle stands outside.
"Thank you for walking me home. I think I'm going to continue on some homework and assessments I'm behind on." I let Kyle know, hoping he would offer to help. He doesn't take the hint and instead says goodbye, waving as he walks towards his house. I let out a sigh and close the door, heading towards my room.
Lying in bed, my thoughts wander not about Abbey but about Kyle. I think about all the things he has done for me like always being there for me and holding my hand to bring comfort it's a really nice thing for him to do. His red hair, green eyes, freckles, and his smile are so cute. Butterflies have now come back fluttering in my stomach. I guess Stan was right. I just needed to get out of the house and distract myself, and not go to Kenny's. Tomorrow's my first day back at school since the accident, but that's tomorrow's me's problem. Butterflies turn in for the night, and my body relaxes into my bed and drifts off to sleep.
