I'm in the car with Craig, and he's speeding down the road to get to the hospital, and I mean speeding at 90 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. "Craig, I really want to see my sister, and get there fast but don't get pulled over for speeding," I say, holding onto anything for dear life. "Like you just said you want to see your sister fast, so that's what I'm doing," he replies, driving even faster my head hitting the chair.

A turn is coming up, and I already know what's about to happen. I brace myself, tensing all of my non-existent ab muscles as he swings the car wheel. The car turns right, and our bodies shift to the left. We arrive at the hospital at record speed. I wonder why. I throw myself out of the car and race for the entrance, with Craig not far behind me.

Inside I run to the front desk and ask for Abbey's room. The black-haired, fairly young lady gave me her room number and a pass allowing me to go up. Craig couldn't come up yet, as only family were permitted to see her. Craig did flip off the lady before sitting down, saying when he can, he'll come up. With that, I sprint to her room, stopping before entering. My palms are sweating, and my breath is hitching. Why am I so nervous she's my sister, and I've lived with her for the majority of my life. I shake my hands, turn the doorknob, and enter.

My parent's glossy eyes turn to me, smiling at the fact I made it. Blake's standing next to the door, giving my parents space to talk to Abbey, who is sitting up in bed awake. Her bruised face and neck brace is the only injuries you can visually see; the rest are most likely hidden under the blanket. Her eyes turn to me, and I take a sharp breath; my shoulders lighten. Her smile is something I've missed; I've almost forgotten what it was like.

"Hey little sis," her croaky voice speaks. I can tell it hurts her to speak, so I walk closer to her. She moves her body over on the bed, wincing, mum and dad go to grab her to comfort her. Abbey pats the space she created next to her, telling me to sit, and I do so. I grab her hand, squeezing it, and she returns the gesture. My throat stinging, jabbing to let me cry.

"We will give you two some privacy to catch up," my mum says as she leaves the room along with Dad and Blake. The door closes behind them with a soft click. the sound granting permission for me to finally cry. Abbey places her other hand on my cheek, rubbing it softly. "hey y/n don't cry I'm ok, see I'm alive aren't I?" She says trying to calm me down I let out a little giggle and wipe my eyes. "Sorry, it's just that I thought you were going to die," I say, and Abbey starts to laugh—well, she tries to, as she grabs her stomach in pain after a few laughs.

"So you had no hope for your big sister to survive how rude," she says in her teasing tone, and I smile staring at her, still not believing that she is awake and talking to me. "So you've got a boyfriend?" Abbey says breaking the silence after a couple of minutes. My face drops, probably going red. "Ah, so there is someone," she states after noticing my face. I let out an awkward laugh. "Not really, I mean there is a guy but I don't know about my feelings for him yet so I don't have anyone," I say, and this was true. Sure, I find Kyle attractive, but I don't know him enough to get obsessed with him or to fully have feelings for him.

"Ok, what about friends? How are they going?" She asks, trying to catch up on everything that has happened since she's been asleep. "Well, I've got three different friend groups to sit with, but I think I'm the closest with Craig." Abbey smiles at this and asks me more questions about everything that has happened, which I answer, and we talk for what feels like hours.

Time skip:

I'm sitting outside Abbey's hospital room; it's now late afternoon, and my parents and Blake went to get some food while the doctors were doing some checks on her. I didn't feel like eating, so I said I would stay. Craig is sitting next to me as he never went home, and when I left her room, he was waiting outside. I have no idea how he was able to get up here, but I'm glad he did.

"You know you can go home; you don't have to sit here with me," I tell him, stabbing the silence that has formed between us. I look over at him, and he's staring at the ground. He looks like he could fall asleep at any moment. Craig slowly lifts his head, looking at me.

"But you're here, and I'm not leaving you alone," he says, staring at me. I smile softly, and he brings his chair closer to mine to the point where they are touching. He pats his shoulder, allowing me to rest my head on it. I slowly lower my head and close my eyes, and his head falls on top of mine.

"Aye, I'm not fat, I'm just big-boned!" This wakes me up, and I lift my head off of Craig's shoulder, waking him up as well. The sound came from the stairs, and I stare waiting for whoever it was to appear. "You heard that too, right, or am I now hearing Cartman in my sleep?" Craig speaks. I laugh a little before saying, "I heard it too." We are now both staring at the stairs and soon an orange parka, a green hat, a red hat with a blue pompom, and a blue hat with a yellow pompom come into view. I hear Craig sigh loudly. I know he doesn't like them, but I'm confused as to why they are here.

Kenny and I lock eyes, and he points towards me, saying to the others that I'm over there, and they walk faster towards me, stopping in front of me and Craig. "So is she ok?" Kyle asks, and I'm half asleep, so I nod my head in answer. "can we see her?" Cartman asks and I see Craig tense I stand up straightening my clothes out. "why do you dicks want to see her?" Craig says standing up in front of me and the door like he's trying to protect it. "None of your business, Craig." Cartman fires back. I can see Craig scrunching his fist, ready to punch Cartman, but I stand in between them.

"Look, you guys can after the doctors finish their checkup, which shouldn't be much longer," I say, trying to defuse the tension. Craig pulls my arm, making me lose my balance; my head is right next to Craigs and he whispers in my ear. "Are you sure you want them to see her?" I pull away and nod my head smiling he then nods back letting go of my arm.

Not long after my sister's door opens and two doctors come out and look at the crowd of kids that are standing there. I make my way to the front and ask, "Are we able to see her?" The doctors nod and leave the door open for us. I walk in first, and Abbey is awake, eating some hospital food. The others walk in not long after, and Abbey smiles at every one of them. "y/n are these your friends?" Abbey asks, and I walk over to her smiling. "Yup, this is Eric, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, and Craig," I inform her, pointing at each one when I say their names.

Abbey smiles even more. "Well, it's nice to meet you all," she says. Kyle walks forward and asks, "Are you ok? How are you feeling?" I could see the concern on his face, which made me smile. Abbey caught on that this must be the boy before she responds, she sits up more. "I'm fine. I took a few painkillers, so I don't feel any pain. You guys don't need to be worried about me," Kyle then smiles at her stepping back with the others. "Craig," my sister calls, and he looks at her "Thank you for looking after my little sister; she has told me everything you've done for her." I lower my head, and Craig just nods his head.

Abbey continues talking to the rest of the boys, getting to know them, and I step outside the room. Once outside, I let out a deep breath. The door opens, and Kenny steps out. "Why are you out here?" he asks. I take a seat, and he does the same. "I don't know, I guess I still can't comprehend that she's ok and you guys are talking to her. It just seems unreal," I express, looking at the floor and playing with my fingers. Kenny places his hands on top of mine, pulling them towards him and making me shift my body towards him. I look up at his blue eyes. "Hey, look, all of this that has happened to you is unfair, but you've been gifted with her being alive and well; now it's time to move forward with what the rest of the world gives you. Like right now Stan brought some board games for all of us to play including your sister so you might as well just live in the moment"

I almost want to cry again, but I won't. Who knew Kenny would be inspirational. I nod my head, standing up. Kenny opens the door, and we both walk inside to see everyone sitting down around Abbey with Monopoly open on the bed. To my surprise, Craig is even playing. I go to join them, and for the rest of the night, we play all sorts of board games.
