Antonio's POV
I hadn't seen Ms. Jennifer in over an hour. Not a good sign. The last time I saw her was when she was last seen talking to Mr. Lin-Manuel. Then, she was nowhere to be found. It was almost as if she had vanished.
What if she had left with Mr. Johnny? What if he had convinced her yet again and they had both made up? It wouldn't surprise me. I knew they were both crazy in love with each other. And even with that sex tape, maybe there was still a chance for them.
The thought didn't bother me. They deserved to be happy. Except...if they had made up. That meant my job was gonna get increasingly difficult. And my boss would punish me. I couldn't afford that.
I stood in the corner of one end of the room, just looking around. Praying that I would spot her somewhere.
Just then, I spotted Sean walking back. What was he doing here? I had seen him leave with Mr. Johnny over an hour ago. Maybe Ms. Jennifer was with him. And she had forgotten something.
I hurriedly walked over to where he was walking.
"Sean," I called out.
He turned around and looked at me. I knew he didn't like me. He was really overprotective of Mr. Johnny. And even of Ms. Jennifer. I knew he, too, had his reservations towards me.
"Did Ms. Jennifer leave with Mr. Johnny?" I asked.
"Why would she be with him?" he frowned. "They broke up."
I felt my lips go dry. If she wasn't with him, then where was she?
"Why do you ask?" Sean asked.
"I can't seem to find her," I mumbled.
"What do you mean, you can't find her?" Sean frowned. I could tell he was getting agitated. Sean adored Ms. Jennifer. They had a great bond and I would always find them both deep in conversations. Conversations that never included me.
"The last time I saw her, she was talking to Mr. Lin-Manuel," I sighed. "And that was over an hour ago."
"Have you asked Mr. Miranda?" Sean asked me. He was trying to conceal what I knew he was feeling: fear.
"No yet," I shook my head.
"Unbelievable," he spat. "You're her security guard and you can't even keep her safe."
He pushed past me and walked towards where Mr. Lin-Manuel and his wife, Vanessa, were seating down with their guests.
Something inside me screamed out that something was very wrong.
Lin-Manuel's POV
"Mr. Miranda," I heard someone call out. I looked up and saw Sean approaching me.
"Hey Sean," I smiled. "I could have sworn you had driven Johnny back home."
"I did," he nodded. "But he forgot his phone and I came back to look for it. Thankfully, I found it."
"Oh, good," I smiled.
"Mr. Miranda," he frowned. "Can I have a word with you?"
"Sure," I nodded. I didn't like the tone of his voice.
Had something happened to Johnny? Vanessa had filled me in about the conversation they both had before he left to go home. I knew Johnny was devastated. And I felt horrible for not being able to be there for him. But I also knew he was still recovering from his surgery.
We walked towards a corner of the room.
"What's going on?" I asked him.
"I just had a conversation with Antonio," he frowned. "He's worried because he can't find Ms. Jennifer. He says the last time he saw her was over an hour ago. When she was last seen talking with you."
