Lin-Manuel's POV
The minute I landed in LA, I drove straight to Jen's house. Ricky and Fernando were outside, sitting down on the front porch.
"Hey," I walked towards them, out of breath.
"Any updates?" I asked.
"No," Ricky shook his head and sighed.
"We have to let her family know," Fernando nodded.
I was afraid of that. Something was wrong, something had happened to both Jen and Antonio. It was almost as if they had vanished, leaving no trail behind. Letting Jen's family know would break my heart. I was there when she had been kidnapped. We had cried together, prayed together, and nearly lost hope.
Why did this feel so eerily similar to that time in Mexico?
I nodded but said nothing. I ran my hands down my face and sighed.
"Any update?" I heard someone say from behind. I turned around. It was Sean. I was glad to see him. We needed support from someone that knew about security and that was able to help us get to Jen. Sean was our guy.
"Sean," Ricky looked surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to help," Sean nodded.
"Thank God," Ricky let out a sigh of relief. "We don't even know where to begin. Where to start looking."
Sean nodded. "Do you remember the last moments with her?"
"She had a blow out with Johnny," Ricky began. Fernando shifted uncomfortably. "And I asked Antonio to drive her back home. And that I would meet her here. She wasn't doing well."
Sean nodded.
"I'm sure your boss is sleeping peacefully in his bed right about now," Fernando spat.
"He's not," Sean cut him off and stared at him. Defiance written all over his face. "He hasn't been able to sleep. He is not in the best shape either."
Fernando stared at Sean and immediately looked away.
"That was the last time we heard of Jen," I continued.
"I've been here all this time," Ricky continued. "Like I promised her I would. But she never made it back home."
Sean let out a frustrated sigh.
"I haven't had any luck contacting Antonio," Sean nodded. "It's time to let her family know. And we have to file a police report."
I nodded. I hated every second of what was happening. Déjà vu.
I stepped away and dialed Jen's mother.
Sean's POV
While Mr. Lin-Manuel dialed Ms. Jennifer's family, I took care of calling the police. I gave them all of the information I had. The last time we saw her, what her situation had been. That we couldn't reach her or her bodyguard. They told me that they would send some officers to inspect her home and that they would be interviewing us all.
I walked back towards the guys and saw Mr. Lin-Manuel wipe a tear away. It broke my heart.
"They're on their way here," he nodded.
"How did they take it?" Mr. Ricky asked.
"Not well," Mr. Lin-Manuel sniffed. "They are terrified. I don't blame them."
My phone dinged; I had an incoming call from a private number. I frowned. Maybe it was the police. Maybe they needed more information.
"I'm gonna take this call," I nodded at the guys. "One second."
"Go for it," Mr. Ricky nodded.
I stepped away from them and pressed "answer."
"Hello?" I called out.
"Sean," I heard an all too familiar voice on the other side.
Antonio."Antonio," I sighed. "Where are you? Where is Ms. Jennifer?"
"Listen to me," Antonio began. "I don't have much time."
I felt my blood ran cold. This wasn't going to be good.
"Ms. Jen doesn't have much time," he sniffed.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"He has her," Antonio continued. "He's drugged her enough where she is unconscious but...soon. She won't be able to wake up."
"Who has her?" I asked. My heart was beating wildly. I was afraid of
what his answer would be.
"Alex," he responded.
How the fuck? How? When?
He continued to ramble on. It sounded like he was crying. Whatever she had gone through must had been traumatizing. Antonio was incoherent and manic.
"Where are you?" I asked. "I need to get to her."
"Yes," he sniffed. "Please come get her. Bring the police. You're gonna need a lot of backup. She doesn't have that much time."
"Give me the address," I almost growled.
Antonio gave me the address. I was skeptical. What if it was a trap?
"I know you don't trust me," he continued. "That's why I'm begging you to bring police. And a lot of them."
"Fine," I growled. I felt sick. This was much worse than I had anticipated.
"Sean," Antonio called out. "It's my fault. It's all my fault."
"Save the sappy shit for later, asshole," I snapped.
"I lied to her," he continued. "I hid the truth from her."
"And I'm sure she's aware of it now," I growled. I was about to disconnect the call.
"Sean," he cut me off. "We just killed her baby."
I froze.
What was he talking about?
"What?" I asked.
"When she was in that rehab clinic," he began. "She had her doubts about being pregnant. So, I went out and got her a pregnancy test. A fake one. And it came back negative."
I stood there, unable to move.
"She was pregnant all along," he cried. "I knew she was. I tried telling Alex so that he would stop assaulting her. And he made me get a real test. She didn't even know we tested her for it. Alex made sure she lost it. He assaulted her until she bled..."
"You sick motherfucker," I growled. I disconnected the call. For the first time in a long time, I felt my body shake.
I walked towards the guys.
"I'm calling the cops," I sighed. "It's worse than what we could have ever imagined."
"Where the fuck is Jen?" we turned around and saw Mr. Johnny and Mark walking towards us.
Johnny looked manic. His eyes were red. Had he been crying?
"We don't know," Mr. Ricky answered.
"Fuuuuuuuuuck," he let out a terrifying scream.
I looked at Mark who shot me a concerned look.
"That bastard has her," Johnny screamed.
Did he know?
"Who?" Mr. Lin-Manuel asked.
"Alex," Johnny screamed. "That bastard has been out for months. He has her."
He knew.
