Johnny's POV

I was back home. Alone.

I walked into the bar and opened up a new bottle of red wine.

It's finally over.

I took a long drink of my glass of wine. Trying to numb my heart. My feelings. But every time I closed my eyes, all I could see was her.
Jen.

"Have you tried the chicken sandwich?" Jen smiled.

It was the first time Jen and I had been alone. And I was nervous. We had met briefly but all I wanted was to see her again. Those big, hazel eyes of hers. They were captivating.

"Not yet," I smiled. I felt so shy around her.

"Here," she giggled. "They catered from my favorite chicken place."

I took the chicken sandwich from her and smiled.

"Jen," Tim called out.

"I'll be right there," she called back. She turned to look at me, "I was right, wasn't I?"

The chicken sandwich was delicious. She was right.

"It's really good," I laughed.

She giggled and winked at me. And just like that she was gone.

I sat there, ignoring the taste of that tasty chicken sandwich. All I wanted was to taste her lips.

"You were the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me," I said out loud. I didn't care, I was alone.

"Boss," I heard Sean call out.

He walked towards me and I immediately noticed the worry on his face.

"May I be dismissed for the night?" He began. "I need to take care of something personal."

"Sure," I shrugged. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah," he nodded.

I knew Sean. I knew something was off. Maybe it had something to do with his wife. He did have a life outside of being my bodyguard. I had promised myself that I would always honor that.

"Have a good night," I nodded.

"Thanks, boss," he nodded. "Get some rest."

I gave him a sad smile. Rest. Unlikely.

I sat on one of the stools and continued to drink.

"Boss," I heard Mark's voice call out.

I sighed.

Can't I have one minute of peace?

"What is it?" I sighed.

"The private investigator you hired is outside," he began. "Says he wants to talk to you about some findings."

But he was too late.

I closed my eyes and nodded.

"Tell him it's late," I began. "He can come back another day."

"Yes, boss," Mark nodded and left.

I had no interested of seeing anyone. I wanted to be left alone.

I got up and headed towards my office. Maybe if I played some guitar, I'd get inspired enough to write a song or create a melody for a song. Pain was always the greatest inspiration.

I placed my glass of wine on the table and began to strum my guitar. Getting lost in the melody.

I heard a knock on the door but ignored it.

"Boss," I heard Mark's voice.

"What?" I almost growled.

"Sorry, sir," Mark began. "But the investigator wanted me to give you this."

He handed me an envelope.

"I'll go through it some other day," I nodded. I placed the envelope on the table nearby.

"He says it's vital that you watch it as soon as possible," Mark continued.

I ran a hand down my face.

"Alright," I nodded.

Mark nodded and left me alone.

I grabbed the envelope and opened it. It was a USB.

I walked towards my computer and connected the USB.

I took another drink out of my glass of wine and waited.

But what I saw next, made my heart stop. I felt my blood freeze.

No. Dear God, no.
