Johnny's POV

My heart was completely shattered. Jen had attempted to take her own life. She didn't want to live anymore. I needed her. I've never needed someone as much as I needed her.

What if she had succeeded? This was an unimaginable nightmare. Had I push her so far off the edge that she felt the need to exit out?

Mark, Sean, Christi, and I drove back home in silence. The only audible sound was that of me crying in the back of that SUV. Christi sat beside me. I could hear her crying and sniffing. I didn't dare to look at her. I was broken. She knew that.

"Johnny," she whispered.

I said nothing.

"It's gonna be okay," she sniffed. "Look, she's with the best people that can take care of her. Lin-Manuel and Vanessa are taking her to get some help first thing tomorrow morning. She's gonna get better."

I nodded. I knew she was right. I knew that she had the best company and that they would get her the best help she needed.

But...I wanted to be with her. I needed to be with her. I needed to take care of her. Hold her hand along the way. Kiss her tears away. I wanted to make sure she was okay.

"I want to be with her," I sobbed.

"She needs to do this on her own," Christi responded kindly. "You two are not in the best terms. She needs to heal."

"I need her," I sobbed. "She needs me. We need each other."

Christi said nothing. She grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. I knew she was trying everything in her power to try to comfort me. And I appreciated that. I was so grateful to have her by my side. But I was broken.

We rode in silence until we got home.

I walked out of the SUV and straight to the bar that I had built years ago. I poured myself some wine and then went back to sit down in the living room.

"Johnny," Christi sighed. "That's not gonna make it better. You shouldn't be drinking. You're still not 100%."

"I need to numb this pain," I sniffed, wiping tears away. "This pain feels like it's gonna consume me."

She said nothing and sat next to me.

"Where's Sean?" I asked.

"He's probably in the office," she responded.

"Can you call him?" I asked her. "I need to talk to him."

"Sure," she nodded.

Within seconds, Sean walked into the living room.

"Boss," he nodded.

"Sit down," I motioned for him to sit right across me. He took a sit and looked at me. "I need you to tell me everything."

"Everything?" he frowned. He seemed confused. "About what happened tonight?"

"Yes," I nodded. "How did you find Jen? What did she tell you? Why? I need to know. I need to know everything."

Christi sat next to me. I knew she wanted answers as well.

"When I walked into the event, I found your phone and was about to head out. But Antonio stopped me and asked me if Ms. Jennifer had left the event with you," he nodded. "I told him she hadn't. Since you both ended the relationship. He seemed agitated and he told me he couldn't find her and it had been over an hour since he had last seen her."

"Motherfucker," I growled, holding on to the glass of wine I had in my hand.

"I walked up to Mr. Miranda and asked him if he had seen her," he continued. "Then we called Antonio over and he told him what he had told me. That he couldn't find her. We all decided to walk the streets, hoping there was any signs of her. Mrs. Vanessa came with us. And we soon found her cell phone and stiletto shoes."
