Chapter 4: Few years later

Yuki POV

It's been 5 years since my older brother's death. Everyone had a hard time going through it. Mother didn't want to leave her room father started to get overprotective of us. He started to train me a few days after my brother's death. Due to him being afraid I won't be able to protect myself again.

Father: Again! Remember keep doing concentration breathing. It will help more with stamina and speed. Fortunately, your strengths make up for your speed. You need to be fast!

Yuki: Yes Father.

I was trying to catch my breath and went into my stance again. But we got interrupted by Mr.Rengoku.

Father: Let's get a break, the Rengoku family came

A smile appeared on my face and I ran towards the front door. There I saw my mother bringing them into the house and the twins running to Ms.Rengoku.

Ms.Rengoku: Hey there....

Yume: Is Senjuro-San with you?

Ms.Rengoku: *Giggles* Yes he is

Little Senjuro came from behind his mother looking a bit shy. He gave us a small bow and then awkwardly smiled.

Yume: Come on Senjuro-San!

Yume grabbed his hand and started to drag him outside. My mother shouted at her to be careful.

Taichi: No worries Mother I'll go after them

Mother: Thank you Taichi

I then walked up to them and Rengoku smiled at me and I smiled back.

Ms.Rengoku: Oh my Yuki you grow. It's been a few months since we have seen you.

Yuki: Hello Ms.Rengoku.

I bowed a bit to her and then smiled. She laughed a little before speaking again.

Ms.Remgoku: Oh Yuki you know you can call me Ruka and my husband Shinjuro.

I laughed awkwardly and rubbed my head before nodding.

Yuki: I'm sorry I'm used to calling you Ms and Mr Rengoku.

Ruka: It's quite alright Yuki, well Kyojuro was quite excited to see you again

Mother: Oh is that so?

They both giggled a bit and Rengoku and I looked at them confused.

Rengoku: Of course I was! She is my friend after all! I also wanted to spar with her! *Smiles*

Mother: Okay you too be careful!

We both nodded and walked out the door. Rengoku and I caught up and talked about the past months that passed.

Yuki: Father said in a few months the final selection is coming up! He said that if I mastered total concentration breathing I could go!

Rengoku: Oh really? My father said the same thing!

Yuki: That's good! Maybe we can go together!

We both looked at each other with determination on our faces. Rengoku then seem to have a frown on his face. I knew what it was already.

Yuki: Rengoku-Kun, how's your mother

Rengoku: she's doing better, the months we haven't came to visit she was bedridden but for the past few weeks she said she's been feeling better but I feel like she may be lying.
