Aang sored through the sky, his staff turning and twirling as he road the wind like waves. A few months back he grew tired of the temple he stayed. He was currently on, what felt like, a never ending hunt to find more air benders, sky bison, or something that felt like hope.

He rounded a mountain and landed neatly on the side, looking at his surroundings. The thick forest below him was still but the sound of animals still sang, carried by the wind to his ears.

Being alone had made him realize a few things, one of those things being the desperation of friendship he had always held close. Even in his first years, there was always someone by his side.

In that moment, his mind went elsewhere. A strong gust of wind pushed him, breaking his balance on the mountain and sending him plummeting. He outstretched his staph and caught the wind like a wave, giggling as he did spins in the air. He rode the strong gusts around the mountain and headed to the next town on his journey, Kan-Hi.

Kan-Hi is a one of a kind place, a town where all benders and non-benders can coexist naturally, tho it hasn't always been like that. Before the war, there had been nothing.

During the fall of BaSingSa, Fire Nation soldiers did their best to burn the Earth Kingdom to the ground. Their goal was to rule BaSingSa without further stress of war on the Earth Kingdom's behalf. Of course, it's well known now that a lot of the earth kingdom is just that, earth. Kan-Hi, once abundant with secular life, ended in flames. Tho just a small island, it burned for days, until the ground was nothing but black ashes.

In the more recent years, a lot of people, team Avatar included, banded together to create Kan-Hi. It acted as a safe haven for those who were displaced during the war, soon being considered home by many of the people who came empty handed.

Aang continued to fly, avoiding the occasional air burst, doing flips and turns to keep himself entertained as he continued on his way. Soon he come to an opening in the forest below him. He scouted his surroundings before landing in the grassy patch of land. He lay there for a moment, considering his options of moving forward or sleep for the night. He didn't know how long he had until Kan-Hi, but he knew he was heading in the right direction.

He examined the sky, decided it was a bit too late to continue on his journey, then outstretched his body against a tree, laying his staph next to him.

Loud stomping made Aang leap into the air upon opening his eyes, a stampede of zebra-buffalo stomped its way around the area he just lay, making a V-line for the tree-line.

His hand tightened around his staph. In his dazed confusion, for a moment, he was being hunted by the fire nation, tho that feeling faded away when he landed on one of the Zebra-buffalo and road it into the forest. He laughed as he dodged branches and trees, the wild animal turning and twisting their way through each tree.

After a while he entered a new clearing, this one was a much more grim scene. The land in the area had been destroyed, creating a perfect circle where the ashes met the leaves that had fallen from the trees still standing, neatly. Like there hadn't been a fire here at all. The ground told a different story, soot floated in the sky and trees lay way to destruction. The area resembled the waste land Kan-Hi once was, but this was much more neat and much more calculated.

In a quick moment he leaped from the Buffalo, hovering a bit in the air, he landed in the middle of the field and sat with his legs crossed. He wanted to know what happened here, if there was any guidance in the spirit world.

For a while he sat, the sound of the stampede now off in the distance, just a few slow Zebra-Buffalo roam the area, keeping their distance from him and the wasteland surrounding them.
