Adoption

A place that will be stable.
A place I call "My own".
But it's a place I feel safe, loved.
A place I've truly known.
A place I step inside, at peace is what I feel...
A place that will forever be a place to fall back on...
A place that's real.
Adoption.
I'm your daughter by choice,
Not by chance.
I was instantly your child,
When you gave me that first glance.
Yet, adoption you're not forced with a child;
You choose that child,
One you happily open your arms up to,
Letting her be herself as you sat back and smiled.

You're my mom by far.
You're my mom by choice,
No matter how hard struggles may get...
Adoption just makes me legally yours....
Don't forget!
