That Night
By: Valerie Katlyn
Laying in my bed,
Your arms draped to my side.
I was lost in a surrender,
My heart went for a ride.
Pressing your head right up to mine,
I never wanted it to end,
Then you said that one sweet line.
You told me you loved me,
Oh those words that you'd say...
But on January 23rd, I believe that was the day.
You whispered it so softly,
two people in love.
Didn't know it would end,
You were my angel from above.
My thoughts are now fumbled,
My words are hidden deep...
Hopefully you have my heart,
Safe, and secure to keep.
Just know I don't blame you,
None. Not at all.
You were the one to catch me,
that's when I would fall.
Now we have to move apart,
Space is what we now need.
Don't think it is your fault,
It's not, agreed?
