Vera stood among the chaos as her half-braided hair framed her face. She was still strangely beautiful, despite the scar across her cheek and the pain in her eyes.

A glint of something dangerous sparked in her gaze as she watched the battle in front of her.

There were more duellers in the courtyard as hundreds of living and non-living beings attacked one another.

Black balls of smoke (Similar to her flying form.) were crashing into stained windows and destroying Hogwarts.

Death Eaters were everywhere Vera looked: Yaxley, close to the front doors, in combat with Flitwick, a masked Death Eater duelling Kingsley right beside them. Students ran in every direction; some carrying or dragging injured friends.

Neville, who had emerged from nowhere brandishing armfuls of Venomous Tentacula, which looped itself happily around the nearest Death Eater and began reeling him in.

Dean had won himself a wand, for he was face-to-face with a masked death eater, while Parvati duelled with Travers.

Ginny and Daphne duelled a pair of masked Death Eaters, back-to-back, in order to protect each other's blind spots as Daphne's sister, Astoria, ushered younger students to safety.

A hungry-looking creature prowled towards Vera. It was so mangled and bloody, she could not discern what it was.

Vera eyed it with curiosity, despite its malicious intentions.

Then, with a bright white flash and a crack, a crystal ball fell on top of it's head, and it crumpled to the ground and did not move.

"I have more!" Shrieked Professor Trelawney. "More for any who want them! Here-"

And with a move like a tennis serve, she heaved another enormous crystal sphere from her bag, waved her wand through the air, and caused the ball to speed across the courtyard and smash through a crowd of death eaters.

"Harbinger of chaos." Professor Trelawney gasped when she spotted Vera.

"I usually go by Vera these days." Vera quipped sarcastically.

Professor Trelawney grabbed Vera's wrist and gasped loudly as a misty look overcame her face amidst the battle.

She spoke in a hoarse voice. "Sear the mind... split the soul."

Vera pulled her hand out of her divination Professor's grip, slightly disturbed by the way her words made the hairs on her neck stand up.

At the same moment, the heavy wooden front doors burst open, and gigantic spiders forced their way into the courtyard.
