“I don’t feel like talking” I told him looking at my glass and wondering what horrible mistake I made to be in this situation

“Right because that what people who don’t want to talk say” Damien joked and took another drink

“Bad date?” He asked me

“Worst day of my life” I groaned

Philly finally left after dessert, which he pointed out how I was able to finish the cheesecake so fast; and when I made it clear I wasn’t sleeping with him he left barely saying goodbye.

“Cool, broke up with my girlfriend” He said and finished his drink

“Oh I’m sorry, what happened?” I asked suddenly feeling bad for someone else

I liked it, easier to help other people then myself

“Yeah because she’s going to Harvard in a month?” He told me

“Oh” I said suddenly not feeling bad anymore

“Yeah, she wanted to go the long distance but who wants to do all that waiting right?” He shrugged

I should’ve just left it alone, I could’ve ended the conversion now and binge old episodes of That 70’s show while eating chocolate covered strawberries, but I couldn’t help but feel like there was something more.

“Yeah long distance tough especially with all the pretty girls here” I said agreeing with him hoping it would encourage him to open up more

“Pretty girls? Are you 12?” He joked and I was happy to get a smile out of him

“And yeah, plus she’s going to med school and could probably find a nice guy who's boring but has lots of money and studying to be a lawyer or some shit” He added

“Aw so you broke up with her so she could find a nice guy, thats awfully kind of you Mr. Rivas” I teased and playfully punched his arm

“Are you drunk?” He asked me

“No obviously, just messing with you” I giggled and he gave me a smile

“Valentine's day is not over yet. Want a big girl to drink before you drive home?” Damien offered

“Yeah I’ll call my lyft in like 15 minutes” I told her

“Lyft? That's a waste of money, I’ll drive you home after” He said and handed me an rose gold cocktail that shimmered

“This is so pretty” I awed and scooted closer to him, we clinked our drinks together and started drinking together

“Okay Penny get out of your nice clothes and put on your pajamas don’t want you to mess it up” I told her

“Are you standing the night?” Penny asked Malcom

“Yes, I’ll even read to you before bed” Malcom promised and she ran to her room

“Thank God that was over” Malcolm sighed and took off his tie

“What?” I asked him

“That was a killer, but hey at least it’s over” Malcom smiled and kissed my cheek and took of his jacket

“Oh yeah” I said and nodded

“I’m gonna take a shower, wanna join?” He asked

“I'll be there in a minute” I told him as he walked into the bathroom

I took a deep breath trying to forget what that woman told me and walked into the bathroom with Malcom
