I walk up to our table with my breakfast tray as we all talk about things we wanna do when we get out of here. Lexi wants to spend more time with her dad and sister, Nadine wants to visit her mothers grave with flowers and Devon wants to watch horror movies with all of us. "What about you Jake what do you wanna do when we get out" Nadine ask as we all set our trays down I sit on the wooden chair.

"Uh I want to get into my art camp" I plead I've asked my dad he never said no but it wasn't exactly a yes and more likely I might go because my uncle is willing to pay for it. "Wait dosent that mean you'll be gone for the rest of summer when we leave" Devon ask though I never thought of it like that it was my dream.

"Yeah you guys will be fine" I say licking the yogurt off my spork "no Jake I won't I'll crumple up and die" Lexi says dramatically i cackle but soonly stop seeing Devon's face  he's frowning. I look away noticing cut out paper hearts saying "Jesus loves you" I look back at the meal it finally clicks "holy shit it's Valentine's Day" I say their eyebrows raise "you didn't know?" Lexi ask "what? No!" I shout "we'll we're having a valentines day dancel"! Nadine says.

"Do you guys have a dance for everything?" I groan I could hear Devon laughing quietly "yeah and no but they think that Valentine's Day is to celebrate Jesus's love" she puts air quotes around love. I sigh grabbing my tray to throw away "where you heading?" They ask I look at them "I'm going to hang with sam" I lie picking up my satchel I walk away throwing my tray.

I make my way to the other side of the building where Alexis relaxes at I finally find her sitting down next to her she stares at a picture I lean in noticing the picture is her with aj "wow you guys had a thing aye?" I say in her ear causing her to jump she nudges me "Jesus Jake".

"Also ew" she adds on I fake gasp turning to my satchel and pick out some photos of me with Lexi and Devon before we went our ways.

I hold the stack in my hand they were flipped upside down I look at her as she gazes her picture. I look back at the stack of photos and put em back.

"Why aren't you with your friends Jake" she ask "I don't know.." she looks at me with concerned eyes "you ok?" I smile nodding my head "oh shoot it's almost time for class..." I grab my bag waving goodbye to her and then leave through the hallway we still had an hour before class I took it upon my self to go outside and draw Stuff.

But of course when I get out everything is iced and snow covers up the stairs and it covers the branches it was quite foggy and you could hear the sounds of the snow dropping down it gave me a great idea on what to draw. I sat on the bench and began sketching a girl naked but buried In deep snow. As some of the snow was red due to her blood a large icicle impaled her through the stomach.

I also drew the ice melting and the clouds faintly in the back of the art. I finally finish and look around before closing my book and shoving it in my bag,I leave the bench and go Inside shutting the door behind me. I look at the clock it still was time we had 30 minutes left. I decide it best to make my way towards study hall anyways I walk through the dark halls finally getting to the side where everyone was.

As I was walking down the hall I ran into sam he had a pissed face when saw me he shoves me I grab on his wrist pulling him back "what the hell is up with you?!" I ask he scoffs "me what's wrong with you?! You've been lying to your friends about us hanging out!" My eyes open everything clicks my eye swelled up with tears I've been caught lying and I hurt someone's feelings "I- uh shit!" I say it's all that leaves my mouth "you're horrible!" He walks away in anger.

I rub my tears making my way to study hall I see Lexi and Jake sitting there at our table I sit down in silence putting down my bag. I could feel their stares down my neck giving me goosebumps.

{After the classes}
[5pm]
3 hour till the dance

I get to my dorm finally being able to rest I lay down on my bed I slowly shut my eyes but open them when the door slams shut. "Hey what the hell man" I ask he drops his  bag. And gets on top of me he had a serious face "what the fuck Devon?" I shout trying to get him off but he won't budge "Jake why did you lie" my eyebrows raise "I didn't..." I defend.

"Say the truth or I'm not getting off!" He demands I try scooting him off but he still doesn't budge I finally give in "I lied because I've just not had a clear state of my direction Sam asked me out a couple weeks ago and I said no!, all of a sudden he switches up I try making things right but no and then I overheard you and Lexi saying things about me!" I rant I wasn't even crying I was angry.

He gets off me and sits on the edge of my bed "Jake I- we weren't talking shit we talking about how you were acting really weird" he says I look away from him "yeah well the way I act doesn't matter" I say rolling my eyes.

He gets up off my bed and looks at me "your still going to the dance right?" He ask "never said I was" I cross my arms laying back down I hear our door shut.

{7pm}
1 hour before the dance

Im woken up by someone shaking my shoulder I open my eyes to see alexis "what.. what are you doing here?" I ask groaning "you need to be my date for the dance!" She demands my eyes open wide as I get up "why?" I ask.

"I'll say later" she pulls my arm grabbing a burgundy colored suit to match with her red velvet dress she's also wearing red lipstick "get ready and fix your hair we only have an hour" i shake my head in confusion but listen to her.

I change into the suit tying the tie tightly.I touch up my hair "is this good?" I ask looking for approval she smiles nodding "yess you look good!" She opens the door and shuts it when we leave. We walk downstairs and into the a main room with the classes it's empty and dark.

She opens a window door wich leads to the other side of the building away from the dorms we take a turn and the dance is in the library I stand outside processing what's happening. "Why are we doing this?" I ask she looks at me and ask "do I look good" avoiding my question "yeah of course but why am I here?" I ask she pulls me into the dance with the loud church music.

And makes our way to an empty sofa on. A porch type thing I sit down finally relaxing she sits down next to me "not bad aye" she winks I shrug "sure" i say she rolls her eyes "I'ma go dance can you watch my bag and jacket?" I nod my head as she walks off waving to people I stare down the jacket.

I start humming what ever melody my brain came up with all of a sudden my thoughts were cut short when I saw Devon "thought you weren't coming?" He teases I look away from him he grabs her stuff and sit on her spot placing the stuff on the ground. "Well good to see you to Devon" I say with an attitude he peaks a smirk.

"Someone's mad.." he teases again I roll my eyes "want to talk now?" He ask I look at him blankly I lean a bit on him as I pull him by his shirt collar pressing my lips into his. He wraps his arms around my waist before I pull away from him. He smiles "so we're good right?"  'No no we're not I don't know why I always kiss him when I'm angry I'm letting him play games' I think to myself before getting up and grabbing her stuff I storm off.

Walking in the crowd i found Alexis dancing she stops after making eye contact with me and leaves the room with me, I pick a spot in the dark hallways with moon light shining w bit through the big glass windows. She sits next to me "what's wrong Jake?" She ask.

"Am I easy to feed in to" I ask guilty of being that way "maybe but that doesn't matter, let me take you to your dorm" she takes her stuff from me and walks to the other side of the building where the dorm are at with me.

{when they get there} I shut my door after saying bye to Alexis and pull off my tie and take off my blazer,unbuttoning my white shirt I put on my pajamas throwing what I wore on my chair. I lay flat on my bed looking at the roof 'maybe I am just to gullible'
