Jay only had to walk past Heeseung’s room once, about ten minutes after Sunghoon and Heeseung had gotten together, to realise they had made a mistake. Well, he didn’t actually know they’d made a mistake, but he could sense something would go wrong for all of them. All of them, except Heeseung and Sunghoon. At the time, it was simply a sensation at the back of his mind, Jay didn’t worry about it too much. They were cute and finally together, Jay wasn’t going to complain. He’d tease them in the morning and laugh at their expenses, but all out of love and happiness for them.

It was all fun and games, until it’d been the tenth time in a week he had walked in on them making out. Not to mentioned they smelt so strongly of each other they all had confused them a couple of times while tired or not looking. Sunghoon could tell this annoyed Jay, which meant he scented Heeseung more often just to spite him. Then, Sunghoon’s roommates started complaining because their room smelt more like Heeseung than any of them.

And that’s how Jake realised something.

“Wait, why haven’t you moved to Heeseung-hyung’s room?” It was a reasonable question, at least most of them agreed. Sunghoon, however, seemed to believe Jake was joking.

“Why would I?” He asked, noticing that Jake was being serious.

“Because he has a room for himself?” Jungwon offered, probably thinking the same as Jake.

“Because you are dating and scent so often I’d believe you are the same person?” Sunoo added as well, the other two nodding along.

“Because you basically have one closet together?” Jay pointed out, noting how at that very moment, Heeseung was wearing one of Sunghoon’s t-shirts.

“Because it would just make sense?” Jake finished the list of reasons.

“Uh, no it wouldn’t?” Surprisingly, it was Riki who spoke first.

“Right? We’ve been dating for three months only, it’d be too much,” Sunghoon explained his point of view. “We need some time apart, you know?”

“Do you?” Jay sounded annoyed and sarcastic. All evidence pointed at them needing to be stuck by each other’s side.

“Yes,” Sunghoon was firm. “Hyung, help me out here,” he called for Heeseung to join in the argument.

“I think they have a point, actually,” Heeseung admitted, just a little bit embarrassed.

“Hyung, seriously?” Sunghoon exaggerated his tone just to sound more betrayed. “You want me there twenty-four-seven?”

“I don’t think you want my answer to that.” Heeseung nodded, as if agreeing with himself. “But I get that you want some space, occasionally, so I don’t see why it’s bad that you stay in your room.”

“You don’t know what you are asking for…” Sunghoon shook his head. “Anyway, I don’t get why all of you care so much for how we handle our sleeping arrangement, especially since you aren’t even in our room.” Sunghoon pointed at Jake as he said this, since he had been the one to bring up the topic.

“Because your heat is next week.” Jake stated, like it was obvious that had been his reasoning.

Now, Sunghoon was presented with several thoughts at once. He could not believe, to begin with, that he had forgotten when his heat was. With everything that had been happening, he’d failed to keep track of his cycle, which was fucking stupid. He also failed to see how that connected to Heeseung and him sharing a room, though he could imagine what Jake was implying. But most importantly, he was surprised Jake had remembered for him.

“Okay, so?” He chose to act oblivious.

“You are not that dumb,” Jay commented, evidently, they all had the same thought as soon as Jake had reminded everyone of Sunghoon’s heat. Heeseung included.
