"Oh my god!? Is she dead?!" I yell at Ashley as my eyes start to burn and my vision blurs from tears.
"I-i don't know." Ashley says, staring at Emma in shock.
" I'm Calling 911!" I yelled as I fumbled my phone into my hands.
" Wait!" Ashley yells, staring at Em as I start to dial 911. Ashley takes a deep breath, trying to remain calmer than I am, but I can see the fear, the sadness, the confusion in her eyes.
" It looks like we poisoned her. We can't tell anyone. Do you want to go to jail? "Ashley asks as she walks over to Emma.
"No it doesn't! It looks like she fucking killed herself." I yell.
"Well I don't fucking know. Our friend is dead. What do you want to do?!"
Dead. . . DEAD!
"Oh my god." I whisper under my breath as my stomach twists and turns. I taste acid in the back of my throat as I run to the bathroom and barf in the toilet while sobbing. Dead. She can't be dead, I never got to tell her everything, I never told her how much I love her, how I'm sorry I broke up with her. I never got to kiss her again, or hold her. God, she can't be dead! No.
Ashley comes from behind and moves my hair. I sit back against the cold wall.
"Can I have a moment?" I tell Ashley, staring at the wall.
"Uh sure." She responds.
I curl in a ball once she leaves. Verbally sobbing. She probably thinks... thought I hated her or never cared about her. I sob harder, almost unable to catch my breath.
"I'm going to call 911!" I yell to Ashley through my shaky voice.
*Gasp!*
"OH MY GOD!" I hear Ashley yell from the living room. I jump up and run towards them.
I look over and see Emma gasping as tears run down my face.
" What the fuck!" I say as I hear, "911 what's your emergency?"
"Sorry, wrong number." I say, my voice cracking from my breakdown, my whole body shaking as I hang up.
I watch as Emma sits up and looks around.
"Hey, my migraine is gone." Emma smiles to herself as she touches her head. She's... smiling?
