Walking into the party that I'm hoping Aelin and Emma are at, I stand there in shock. The scene before me sends a jolt of unease through my body. The burn marks stretch from the floor to the ceiling. Hinting to some catastrophic event, the motionless group of people resembling zombies only adds to the surreal atmosphere. My heart races as I try to make sense of it all, my sense on high alert.
Suddenly, movement catches my eye, and I whip my head around to see a tall man with dark brown hair striding purposefully towards me. His powerful steps convey a sense of urgency, and his intense gaze sends a chill down my spine.
"Hey have you seen a stupid, red head, with brown eyes, possibly a dumb blonde girl with her?" I blurt out my question in a mix of frustration and urgency, hoping to gather any information that might help me find Aelin and Emma. The peculiar circumstances of the scene around me making my inquiry stand out even more.
"Stand still and don't talk." Despite the man's insistence, I can't help but voice my frustration at his dismissive attitude. Ignoring his command, I speak up, my tone firm yet pointed.
"That's rude. You didn't even answer my question," I assert, unwilling to let his silence go unchallenged. The tension in the air thickens as my words hang between us.
"I said, stand still and don't talk." He repeats, his voice carrying a hint of warning this time, his patience wearing thin. Tehe, Ima test his patience.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Just answer my question asshat." I say, frustration in my voice.
As he reaches out to touch my shoulders, attempting to make eye contact, I react instinctively, wrenching myself free of his grapes with a swift, forceful motion. With a surge of adrenaline, I lash out, delivering a powerful punch to his stomach.
The impact sends him flying backwards, his back hitting the wall forcefully. His body falls limp on the floor for a few seconds before he looks up at me. For a moment, there's a silence, broken only by the sound of his labored breathing as he struggles to regain his composure.
I stand my ground, my chest heaving with exertion and anger, my fists clenched at my sides. Though uncertainty lingers in the air, I can feel a sense of empowerment coursing through me, fueled by my refusal to be intimidated.
The man groans in pain, his hand clutching his stomach as he struggles to sit up, his expression contorted with discomfort. His dark brown hair falls slightly over his face, partially obscuring his features as he grimaces against the pain.
I watch him carefully, a mix of apprehension and defiance coursing through me. Despite his apparent discomfort, I stay cautious, unsure of his intention and unwilling to let my guard down.
