Eddie huffed keeping his head upright on his hand, "Are we gonna go inside or just sit out here?" He mumbled through his fingers.
"Would you give me a minute?" Magnolia hissed. "I need to calm my nerves." She pressed her fingers to her temple groaning.
Steve had already dropped the two off in front of Magnolias house about ten minutes ago, however they hadn't stepped inside yet. They both sat at the small iron table her mother had put out for them last summer.
Magnolia tapped her finger against table as She made the effort to build the courage to walk into her house. She doesn't like to lie to her family especially to her mom, even if she did, she'd see right through her, Magnolia is a terrible liar.
Eddie let out a heavy sigh pulling his lighter from his denim vest. The clink of the lighter flickering on brought Magnolia back to reality. Eddie stared at Magnolia as he placed the lit cigarette between his lips inhaling the smoke.
Magnolia was strangely offended by Eddie, sure at first glance you probably wouldn't assume she smoked, but still he could have offered. She wasn't sure if she wanted to scold him for not sharing or for risking them being caught. Magnolia followed Eddie's ringed fingers as he tucked the lighter back into his pocket.
He looked back up towards her exhaling the smoke from his nose and raising his unkept brows waiting for magnolia to speak.
"Give me that." She took the cigarette from his fingers into her mouth inhaling the smoke.
"That's my last one man, give it back." Eddie reached over the table, trying to snatch the cigarette from her fingers.
Magnolia pulled her hand back, "No I need it more," She grunted. "I'm stressed."
"Oh you're stressed?" He scoffed. "Sooner or later I'm gonna have this whole town hunting me down." He reached over and gripped Magnolias wrists.
"What are you-" Magnolia went silent when Eddie pulled her hand towards his mouth taking the stick in between his lips and throwing her a small wink.
With a loud groan Magnolia deflated back into the chair, blowing away the strand of hair that had fallen onto her face with a heavy sigh. "Fine," she mumbled "we'll share."
Eddie chuckled letting out a small puff of smoke, "If it's stress that your trying to relieve, I may have a couple ideas that'll help better then a little old cigarette."
Magnolia crossed her arms looking at the patchy hard grass in front of her, "Like what?" She questioned not really paying any attention to Eddie.
Eddie leaned forward and whispered "Well it involves us getting all hot and sweaty."
