We've been driving all night. Jasper and I slept for a few hours, but sleeping in the rover isn't easy, or comfortable. Right now, we're on our way to meet Harper, Miller, and Bryan back at Arkadia. As we drive through a wide field, Raven is reading Becca Franko's journal, i'm leaning over her shoulder skimming it. "Becca's journal is amazing. At 26, she found a pathway to access the human mind." She flips the page, "That same year, she had to lock up ALIE, because her answer for what was wrong with the world was "too many people."" That send chills down my body, "She was 27 when it launched the bombs."

Clarke turns back to us, "What does it say about the flame?" she asks.

"ALIE 2.0." Raven clarifies, "She saw it as a way to atone for her sins. She designed it to not just access a human mind, but to merge with one. It could never wipe us out, because it would be one of us. She would put it in herself first. Alter her genes so her body wouldn't reject the implant."

"Bekka Pramheda, the first commander." Clarke breathes. "The gene therapy made her blood black, didn't it?"

"Yeah." Raven nods.

"How did you know that?" Octavia speaks up, asking in a serious tone.

"Nightblood." Clarke explains, "That's where it came from. Somehow it became hereditary. Luna has it. That's why we need to find her. If she can access ALIE-2..."

"She can tell us how to stop ALIE-1." Octavia finishes her sentence,

"Bekka Pramheda gets her second chance at atonement." I remark.

Monty stares down at the chip in his hand, "Get back to the mind pathway." Monty orders, looking over at Raven, "If ALIE uses it to upload our minds to the City of Light, then there's a change my mom is still alive."

Raven nods slightly, "That depends on your definition of 'alive'." Monty looks away sadly, and Jasper gives him a sad look.

"Eyes sharp. Weapons hot. We're almost home." Bellamy grabs the radio, "Miller, come in." No response. "Harper, you there? Your ride's two minutes out." Still no answer.

"Good start." Jasper remarks, making a straight face.

We stop at the cave, to see no one there. We didn't think much of it, so we headed to our next destination: Arkadia.

As we get to the pathway to Arkadia, looking out the slated windshield, the camp is completely empty. It looks totally abandoned. We completely switch the seating around, and me, Octavia, Bellamy, and Clarke get out of the rover. Monty is driving, Raven is in the passenger seat, and Jasper is standing up, half his body out the sun roof.

"We left two days ago. Why haven't they fixed the gate?" Clarke asks, as we near the entrance.

"Maybe because there's no one here to fix it." Jasper calls down to her. "It's like a ghost town." Octavia whispers to me, holding her sword up.

I keep my gun up as we walk into the camp, being aware of my surroundings and trying to be as calm as possible. "Maybe they got chipped." Jasper suggests, "If they were chipped, they would have been waiting for us back at the cave." I say up to him, anxiety lingering in my voice.

"Maybe they saw the open gate and went for Lincoln's book."

This doesn't help my nerves, and Octavia notices that, "Maybe you should stop saying "maybe." Entering the spot where Lincoln was killed, Octavia spots blood on the ground, and we automatically knew it had to be his. "Let's get his book, and get the hell outta here."

"That's a plan I can support." Jasper says. Octavia continues walking.

Clarke looks at the blood confused, and I lean closer to her, "Lincoln." I state simply, walking ahead. Bellamy knocks on the back of the rover, and Monty continues. We drive into the Mecha room, and Bellamy barks out another order.
