Chapter 7 | Friendly hang out pt. 2

Of course, she's awake already. It's taking my best efforts to not explode right in front of her right now. 'Bro no way she just caught me lacking like that.'

"Please take a picture president, it'll last longer"

She smiled, dusting herself off and stood up and removed her headphones, making sure to keep them safely inside her bag. She sure does love her headphones a lot. It made me feel happy again. I mean she better keep it safe, I gifted that to her after all.

"I was about to, too bad you're awake already," I replied channeling my inner actress to act like I didn't just get caught staring at her like a creep.

"So let's go now, I'm sure you're hungry already," I said, attempting to smooth over the earlier embarrassing event. I sprang to my feet as well and grabbed her hand, swinging it like a happy child. Although there was stillness between us, I never once felt uneasy. I have grown accustomed to being at ease in quiet around her because I am well aware of the fact that she is not the talkative type.

Yet to my surprise, she said something while we were on our way to the busy part of the city, my favorite samgyeopsal place to be exact, to eat. "President, your hands are really warm."

'Excuse me? My hands? ARE YOU SAYING YOU LIKE HOLDINGMYHANDS-"

"Bro oh my gosh are you still sick?" I returned her, from what I think is - a poor attempt to flirt with me - by jokingly asking her if she was still sick as I slapped her back while laughing.

"No? but they really are"

"Are you saying you like holding my hands now? Who taught you to flirt like that now huh?" I giggled in response. She has never really been the best person when it comes to complimenting or flirting in general, it's adorable to watch her try. I bet Hanni was the one who taught her.

"What? Flirt? Hey is that what Hanni and Hyein were saying earlier-" confusion and shock were both visibly evident on her face. She looks really adorable right now. I continued laughing out loud as she embarrassingly hid her face by looking the other way. I swear she has to stop genuinely believing everything Hanni says. I wonder what convinced this woman to religiously believe everything and anything that Hanni says.

'Y/N-ah, your obliviousness, and bluntness mixed with your charm is a dangerous combination. Anyone would fall for you if you showed them that side of yours.'

It took quite a long walk to get here so when we got to my favorite samgyeopsal spot, the sun had already begun to set. I've always enjoyed coming here, especially when I can do it with my family-parents, brother, or anyone else I love. Similar to my present situation, in this instance, it's my best friend, who is also the person I've liked since the beginning of high school.

As we made our way to our seats, the kind aunt who knows exactly what we usually order already started preparing our meals.

I watched as Y/N's eyes wandered all around the place before landing her eyes on mine for a short moment. She removed her glasses and closed her eyes. Despite being a volleyball player, she isn't particularly someone with the best eyesight. In fact, she has a really horrible one. She isn't a fan of removing her glasses due to it being a huge inconvenience but because we're going to eat in a barbeque place, she has no other choice but to do so.

Moments later, our usual go-to orders were already being served, consisting of Kimchi stew, marinated pork, beef, fried rice, steamed egg, and many more side dishes. Comfortable silenced enveloped us again as she did the honor of cooking the meat for me and cutting them, and vice versa. She is the type of person to eat in silence because that's what her grandma taught her, to respect her food.

We happily ate and finished our food, making sure to finish everything. Before I could even grab my wallet and insist to pay for the meal she already beat me to it. "I'll pay for this one because I invited you." is what she said. How can I even argue with that.

She must have seen reluctancy in my face and followed what she said earlier. "You can just treat me ice cream later."

My eyes lit up with those words so I smiled and did exactly what she said. This place also offers desserts so I made sure to buy her favorite flavor of ice cream. Not many people knows that she's a fan of sweets, especially cold sweets. Her favorite flavors are cookies and cream, strawberry, and caramel.

The kind aunt gave us the ice creams so I watched as she happily ate her ice cream like a child. This view would be considered normal if it wasn't for the temperature almost hitting 26° F. I ended up giving her my share because I couldn't really eat it, not right now.

"I'm done now, we should go already. It's getting pretty late."

I nodded slowly, before I stood up and answered "Mhm we should, let's just take the bus so we don't have to walk anymore."

Small white flakes can be seen as we made out way out of the restaurant. it was snowing. Fog can be seen forming as an exited sigh left my lips. This is the first fall of snow this season and I am witnessing it with her.

As much as I wanted to enjoy the snow, the cold was starting to really bother me so I grabbed her hands and enveloped it with mine.

"Are you cold?" gentleness can be heard in her voice as she checked up on me.

I nodded and giggled because as soon as I replied to her, she opened her sports bag and grabbed an extra jacket. It was bigger than me and puffy but it provided me the warmth that I needed. I can smell a faint smell of vanilla here, her signature smell. 'Jesus how is she not affected by the cold.'

I muttered a small yet audible 'thank you' as we continued walking hand in hand together with the excuse of the season.

We arrived in the bus station shortly and sat together. I leaned on her shoulders and I expected her to put her headphones as usual but to my surprise she didn't. Instead, she took out a pair of earphones and wore the other side, offering me the other one.

I smiled to this gesture. 'She's really sweet.'

The ride home was calming and before I noticed it, I already took a nap.

'today is indeed a good day.'
