6 - Sorry to be here

Mile

It was his day. No one in the family can miss it. He is the apple of our eyes. He is getting ready since early morning. He is excited, since this is his first party after stay at oversea for along time.
My parent look so stunning tonight.
I try my best to look good for him.
He choose black suit and look like a prince. Lets go i said, when he still oncall. Dont make the guest waiting i said. He nod but still dont move. Wait phi, i need to call my bestfriend, he still not arrive yet. I nod and leave him alone. Its not only his friend in the party but also our business partner.
I look for my secratary and she walk to me beautifully. Lets go i said and bring her to meet my business partner. Birthday party is one of the way we get to be closer with our partner and rival.
Most of the attendees know who she is and it easier to mingle with her.
Its about time but the spoiled boy still not getting down. I signal my mom and she hurrily try to get him. But she stop when she see my brother come running.
But he did not stop at the main stage but run to our door. What is he doing, i am getting impatient. I walk with my secratary hand holding my arm.

Lets go brighty, he suddenly coming back into our house with someone that i cant believe will be here. They both smile to each other and run to main stage. But he stop when he see me with big eyes. He look at my secretary and my hand. Lets go my brother pull my ex fiance to the stage. My mom and dad look so shock and immediately hug him.
I slowly let go of my secratary hands. Excuse me i said and walk to the main stage. Lets start gulf said and hold bright tight who now look so confuse. He try to smile but i know he is very confuse right now. I walk closer and try to look at his eyes. Now every one start singging birthday song and gulf happily blow his candles. Mom, dad this is my best friend bright. He is the one that i always talk to you before he said. Come brighty he call him. I am sorry aunty, uncle i dont know gulfie is your son, i will leave now he said politely. I need to go gulfie, happy birthday. This is your present he said and hug my confuse brother. After that he leave the main stage without looking at me once.

I still cant believe my eyes, gulf now look confuse. He try to get bright but i hold him, you have guest to attend let phi get him i said and walk to door.
He still waiting at our main gate. He must he waiting for his driver.
I walk to him and aproach him slowly.
Why are you leaving the party i ask him who now look panic. I am sorry, i dont mean to be here, i will leave now he said a bit scare. No its okay, you can be here i said. But he keep looking on his phone and gate. Phi, where are you he call his driver. Ok, i will wait here, ok phi he slowly end the call.
Bright lets wait inside i try again. He smile and shake his head. I really dont know how to interact with him.
How are you i ask him. Again he smile and not response to my question. Bright, i am sorry i try to appologized but his car already arrived. I am sorry once again he said and bow to me like a total stranger. And he quickly get into his car and leave me immediately.

I cant explain what i feel now. Its so suffocating. I have imagine how will i meet him a few times and try to end our relation properly. I really felt guilty when he look at me and my secratary.
I really dont want it to be like this.
I walk into my house and try to act normal and start entertain my guest.
I cant see gulf anywhere. I look at my parent now who try hard to smile. When i walk in alone, i can see their dissapointed face. I felt the night is longer than usual. I cant wait to see gulf and send all our guest home.
When i reach gulf room at 3 in the morning, he already sleep with bright gift. He must be said because his bestfriend leave him alone. He really excited to celebrate his birthday with bright. I am sorry gulfie, i caress his hair softly.

Morning gulfie i greet him but he ignore me and run to his room. I look at my mom and she just sigh and signal me to sit. He already know about your engagement. He must feel sorry for bright. Give him time she said. What he said my dad cannot wait and ask me. He just said he is sorry to be here, i slowly said. Both of them look at each other. He must be shocked right now. At least we know he is alive my dad said and walk into his study. My mom caress my hair and leave me alone.
I still can see how scare and shock he is when he see us. He look at us like we are monster. His scare, smiling face cant leave my head till now.
Why i felt really guilty. I really dont have any relation or any responsible on him.
How come i miss when gulfie tell about him every day. I sometime felt his story is not real and now i know why he is that different from others. I never thought the mafia son can be so differ from his father. I dont know he is different. Since he already here i will try to clear thing out. I hate it to end like this.
