"Can I ask you something.", I closed my eyes.
"Depends. What is it?", he didn't look at me.
"Well, there are many theories in the neighbourhood."
"I'm listening."
"Are they true?"
"No. I never killed anyone, and never will. If you think that."
"What happened to your family? You live alone."
"I don't know, since I can remember I am alone, they were just gone.", he looked over.
"Okay, didn't mean to offend you."
"It's your right to ask."
"When did they leave?"
"Don't know I think I was 10. From one day to the other gone. I swore to be alone for the rest of my life."
"That's long."
"Well depends on how long your life is."
"Okay, that's creepy."
"That's my personality."
"Good to know. So, you've been alone for 12 years?"
"Yeah."
"Didn't you feel lonely."
"You'll get used to it."
"What time is it?"
"8pm."
"I need to go, my mom will kill me if I come home late."
"Oh, what a timing I was about to kick you out."
"How lovely.", I stood up.
"Will I have the pleasure to have you as my guest again?"
"Depends. How many times will you forget your homework?"
He just smiled and closed the door.
In bed I thought about him, I didn't know what to believe, was he really a psychopath or just different. I wanted to know more. And as I thought I soon got my chance for that.
