Walking back home, the tro decided to shop around a little. Hyunjin quickly dragged them to a old antiques shop which had tons of animals figures with wool it (which freaked out Felix) heads of tigers and stags (which freaked out Jisung) and dead chicken in a bottle of formalin. (Jisung had no idea of it purpose but Felix got deeply offended.) Hyunjin decided to buy an old vintage book stating he needs it for his creativity class.
Then they headed to an art supply shop. They mean, Felix and Hyunjin while Jisung took a different turn. He really didn't wanted to go it there mainly because his eye caught the old guitar shop.
Normally, whennhe go there, he would find Seugmin chilling on the couch while playing a random guitar. The owner didn't seem to mind because people actually started to come to this shop because they wanted to hear Seungmin play.
Unfortunately he didn't see him there today but he did saw someone he wasn't expecting. Minho was looking at some caset pieces. His lips were in a pointy pout with his eyebrow scrunched.
Jisung turned to leave the area as quickly as possible but the owner saw him.
"Ah, Jisung-ah!"
Jisung froze hearing his voice.
Shit.
"Hey... uncle Nam."
He gave an awkward wave to the man in his mid fifties and glanced at Minho. He had a funny expression with his eye widened. Jisung internally snickered at the silly face. But quickly composed himself.
Jisung, act cool, like he didn't just requested a song for your birthday and like you don't know him.
Jisung cleared his throat walking towards the counter, clearly ignoring Minho. "I was just passing by."
Uncle Nam smiled. "Thought so." He eyes thenguy who was watching them from the distance and leaned closer. "Donyou know him? He keeps staring at you."
Jisung took a glimpse at his hyung and gulped. "I don't even know why he's everywhere I go."
Uncle Nam chuckled. "What a smart answer." He said proceeding to wipe a guitar with a piece of cloth. "You don't quite like him don't you."
Jisung bit his lip. "I used to not liked him at all, few months ago. He was a jerk. He still can be."
"Oh? What made you change your mind now?"
Jisung sighed. "It's complicated. I just want to win YOLO."
Uncle Nam nodded clearly knowing what this competition is. He has been hosting this shop for more than two decades. He had witnessed student come and go, making friends with him.
And everytime, the students from music and dance department had one goal-to with the annual competition-YOLO-you only live once. Students die to win it. They practise hard, make their own song, add choreography and become work hoalics for months. Most of them come to the town when they are stressed. Most of them would have confidence on winning.
But when they ens up loosing, they break down. There was one, a girl, who worked hard for the competition in her senior year with her group but ended up loosing in the final round. She was devastated to the core and didn't even went to close to graduate.
Nam looked at Jisung. Thinking about the same girl who was right here crying her heart out, who was non other than the boy's aunt.
But had Jisoo told him about this? Nam frowned at the possibility of Jisoo saying something she had failed on.
"So I can buy a nice house for aunt, so she won't have to work." He grinned waving his hand. "Ah... we could swim in money. Oh! I could get a house with a indoor pool and may be a nice bug terrace." He procrastinated.
Uncle Nam laughed shacking his head. "Big hopes could bring big sorrows." He mumbled proceeding to the next to be wiped guitar.
"What do you mean?"
Leaning o the counter, uncle Nam looked at him. "I just want you to know that even if you are behind a step, you still tried Jisung. And trying is not losing."
Jisung blinked. "How is that even possible?"
Uncle Nam once again chuckled, the memories of Jisoo flashing in front of him. "Just saying, kiddo."

It's almost evening and the sun is setting down coloring the sky in a vibrant orange and pink hue.
Jisung sighed in happiness. He had been roaming around the town for quite some time now. Hyunjin and Felix had called him to know where he is at, but he just said that he would be fine by himself. Actually, he enjoyed being by himself. He wanted some time with himself.
He smiled to himself enjoying the fried chips in the long stick.
Yet, he felt hungry. So, Jisung headed to another street shop nearby to buy some noodles. But his luck has gone wrong.
"What are you doing here?" He exclaimed looking at Minho who was currently drinking a hot coffee.
Minho spit his drink and wiped his mouth. "Are you following me?"
"No! You are followed me!"
His voice went louder than intended gaining attention of a few customers. Jisung quickly got flustered.
Minho sighed, grabbing his arm, he dragged Jisung away from the crowd. Jisung flinched but didn't pull away.
"Where are we going?" Jisung questioned.
Minho paused, now turning towards Jisung. "Why aren't you at the dorm?"
"I-I just wanted to enjoy the evening here." Jisung looked at Minho. "Why are you alone? Aren't Changbin hyung and Yeongjun hyung wi-"
Jisung stopped himself realizing what he spilled out. Minho's eyes went wide as he looked away. Jisung blushed, now looking at their intertwined hands. Then he stepped closer peeping at Minho's face.
"Why did you do that?"
Minho's ears redden as he tried to build up an answer. "Well... you see... I got to know today's your birthday but I was late... and happened to be in the same cafe... so I requested a song..." He mumbled. He took a breath and looked at Jisung pick flushed face. "Did you... did you like it?"
Jisung made a wide grin. "Yeah, I did. Thank you."
Minho's stomach flipped. Letting out an awkward cough he adjusted his jacket. "No worries. I would be a bad person if I didn't wish for a friend."
Jisung's heart hammered. Friend, the words gave him mixed signals. They've hugged, kissed cheeks, held hands. Do friends do those?
Oh, well Hyunjin and Felix does those all the time. Guess he really wants to keep his boundaries.
Jisung pouted feeling sad.
Minho cleared his throat, now staring at Jisung's hand in his. "So..."
"Hm?"
"What about us?"
Jisung slightly frowned. "Us?"
"Yeah." Minho took Jisung's other hand. "Do you still wanna get mingle?"
Jisung now confused, looked at him as if he's nuts. "What do you mean mingle?"
Minho clicked his tongue. "Don't tell me you haven't drink." Was it a matter to be embarrassed? Yes. The way Minho pointed it out was like Jisung is a nursery kid who doesn't know anything of the world. Minho smirked at him. "Come on, I'll show you how to have fun."
