Ji Hyuk sighed as he stared at his notebook, feeling the weight of algebra problems pressing on him like a stormcloud.
He had been struggling with the equations for over twenty minutes, and his frustration was starting to grow. He glanced over at Minho, who was typing furiously on his laptop. Minho's glasses were perched on the bridge of his nose, barely staying put as he focused intently on his work.
Ji Hyuk groaned, a sound of pure agony. It had been hours of this-his dad's insistence that he finish his homework before he could do anything else. The date did showed it was still Friday, and Ji Hyuk had two more days before he needed to hand this in.
He felt a pang of rebelliousness but knew better than to let it out, especially not with Minho. His dad has can be terrifying.
"You won't be excused unless you finish that, Ji Hyuk," Minho mumbled, still not lifting his eyes from the screen. "I can see you glaring at me."
Ji Hyuk wanted nothing more than to slam his book down and storm off, but he knew better. Minho was like his school principle when it came to discipline, and Ji Hyuk had learned that it wasn't worth angering him.
"I'll finish this tomorrow. I only have a few more." Ji Hyuk suggested, hoping to sound reasonable.
"No."
"But it's still Friday."
"Ji Hyuk." Minho warned, voice suddenl stern - though his gaze remained fixed on the screen. "I said finish it now, then you can do whatever you want for the next two days."
Ji Hyuk's shoulders slumped in defeat. He angrily whined, an act that didn't escape Minho's notice. Ji Hyuk had this habit of mirroring his appa's own frustrating yet endearing trait-whining when things didn't go his way, a behavior Minho recognized from Jisung, an irritatingly cute quality that had somehow recahed his adulthood.
As if on cue, the door creaked open, and Jisung appeared in his pajamas and minho cannot help but think how adorable he looks right how.
Minho finally pulled his eyes away from the screen to see his husband standing there, a soft smile spreading across his face.
"Hey, jagi," Minho greeted, his voice warm with affection. "You still awake?"
(Ji hyuk scoffed at Minho's sudden duality.)
Jisung merely hummed in response, his gaze drifting to Ji Hyuk, who was now resting his head on the desk, clearly exhausted. When Ji Hyuk's eyes met his appa's, they were filled with a silent plea for help.
Jisung's eyes softened at the sight but quickly shifted to a stern look. "Why is Ji Hyuk still awake?"
"Homework-" Minho started.
"Dad forced me to do it," Ji Hyuk cut in, his voice carrying a hint of complaint.
Minho's eyes widened in surprise, momentarily taken aback. "You still need to finish your homework."
"And it's still Friday."
"That doesn't mean you can slack off."
"I won't slack off."
"You said thay last time and slept over at aunt Jisoo's. So you'll be finishing that before anything else."
"That's not fair." Ji hyuk complained. "Appa!"
"Minho." Jisung sighed, still not used to the father son drama. He couldn't understand why Minho was being so rigid about this. "No more homework," he announced, stepping forward to gently guide Ji Hyuk away from his desk. "Go wash up and sleep."
