I was astonished at the phone call I just got. My head was spinning a mile a minute while I was driving to Leah's house. I was having trouble concentrating on the road. I scrambled to find my phone to dial my mom's number. It rang 3 times before she answered.

"Hey mom, I am going to miss out on dinner tonight. Leah needs me to come over." I heard my mom sigh over the phone. Since when was she upset that I am going out with friends.

"Emma, your father and your brother are going to be home for dinner tonight." I grumbled under my breath. She always wants me home when my dad is not working. I get it. Family time mattered to her. But I was disrupted in thought when she mentioned something about my brother.

"Wait, David is home?" I asked in shock.

"Yes, he is home for a few days visiting. I would like us all to eat together." She replied to me. I groaned in frustration, but I was too impatient to wait for this news.

"Well, can we wait for like 2 more hours? Leah called and told me Cheyanne's case re-opened and she wants to tell me everything." I asked politely, thinking she would give into my pleading. But I heard her sigh over the phone.

"Mom please. I need to know." I practically begged for her acceptance. She was silent for a moment before responding.

"Fine, you have 2 hours. But you better be home by 7, please." I smiled at her acceptance.

"Yes, I promise I will be home. Thank you. Thank you, mom. I love you." I quickly hung up before glancing at the time. It was 4:00. I had plenty of time to talk to Leah.

As I pulled to the Wranglers house, I saw a cop car sitting in the driveway with her parents' cars off to the side in the grassy patch. I almost forgot to shut the car off. I got out and quickly walked up to the door. Leah was already standing there waiting for me.

"Is it true? Are they reopening her case? Why? What made them change their minds?" I was bombarding Leah with questions as she let me inside. Adrenaline kicked in. I could hear her parents chatter in the background as a cop was standing in their living room.

"Come." She spoke quietly, grabbing my wrist and pulling me into the opposite entrance that led to the living room. The cop and her parents looked up at me with a smile. The cop looked back at her parents before continuing. There was a man standing next to him dressed up in a black suit with a briefcase.

"Detective Shepard found some information that may lead to the person responsible and if the person was really drunk." The cop continued. I looked over at Leah who was standing next to me listening intently.

"Is this really happening?" I whispered in Leah's ear. She didn't respond. She just kept listening while I chose to do the same thing.

"Detective Shepard, what kind of information are you pertaining to?" Leah's mom asked, holding her husband's hand as they conversed. The detective sat in the rocking chair he was close to and opened his briefcase that had a bunch of file folders and a computer.

"My team and myself found some surveillance cameras from the streetlights in town as well as some traces of different fingerprints along the car that weren't hers. Of course, every fingerprint we found was examined for the first time and we want to ask you about the names of these people. Shall we start from there?" The detective just explained so much detail that even I couldn't understand with my spinning head.

"Yes." Leah's father responded. The detective opened up a file folder with Cheyanne's name on it and began.

"Thomas Avery. Leah Wrangler. Vada Graham. Kimberly Swanson. Kevin and Cathy Wrangler. Emma O'Connor. Ezra Hall. Justin Evans. Sophie Blake and Damion Troby." My thoughts came back when I heard my name. I gulped.
