Family Dinner
We were
sitting down for dinner.
It started out
nice enough.
My sister and I were
laughing and playing with our food.
My mom would occasionally
scold us, but not harshly.
My dad would constantly
hum old cowboy songs.
Then, time changed.
The table was quiet.
My dad then left to
play a game of Solitaire.
Awhile later, my mom backed out,
so she could do her paperwork.
Then, my dear sister left,
Without a sound or explanation.
I still sit at the table,
begging everyone to return.
