Chapter 5

"Try the horned wasp eggs. Delicious!" Chen called to Lloyd as he munched on wasp egg himself. It was dinner time and afterwards would be time to sleep again. Thankfully the competitors had gotten their rooms back. (y/n) was eating next to Kai, who took glances at the (e/c) eyed boy every now and them.

"Uh, I think I'll pass." Lloyd declined Chen's offer.

"Oh, lighten up, Green Ninja. This isn't a trick. This is a feast to celebrate the eight of you making it to the second round." Chen said as the Kabuki laughed and clapped.

"And I must congratulate the Master of Shadow's defeat over Master of Poison. She was a bit hard to swallow, am I right?" Chen said as the Kabuki laughed again.

"Laugh harder! Hahahaha!" Chen commanded as the Kabuki laughed louder than before while clapping their hands.

"You can relax, Lloyd. Even if there was a fight, now that we told the others about Chen's dirty plot to steal our Powers, we're safe in our secret alliance." Kai told Lloyd before (y/n) spoke from next to him.

"Don't be so sure yet." (y/n) commented, as Kai glanced at him curiously as the (h/c) haired boy continued to munch on some food again.

"I tried to enlist Shadow, but that dude's throwing some serious shade." Griffin whispered to the ninja from the side.

"Don't bother with a guy like him, he has made up his mind." (y/n) commented as Lloyd gave him an acknowledging look.

 "Well, if you plan to stop Chen, you'll still need everyone on board. Each fighter that loses gives him strength. Soon he'll be too powerful for even all of you combined to overcome." Garmadon stated when one of the Kabuki arrived in the hall with a tray of fortune cookies in hand.

"Ooh, fortune cookies! Bring them to me!" Chen called as the Kabuki walked to him with the tray.

"But they are for your captured- I mean, honored guests." Clouse corrected himself midway, but the small slip didn't go unnoticed by the (e/c) eyed boy.

Your p.o.v.

"I'm not gonna eat them, Clousey Clouse. Just read the fortunes. They're my favorite part." Chen said in excitement as he picked up a fortune cookie from the tray. Clouse whispered something else to Chen. But I wasn't really interested in that, since the fortune cookie had caught my eye instead. The fortune seemed to be only partly in the cookie, the red paper being the main reason it looked odd. It could be a misprint, but in the island owned by a worldly known noodle house owner, it's highly unlikely. Chen frowned and placed the fortune cookie back on the tray before clearing his throat.

"It has come to my attention that there are rumors floating about that I am stealing everyone's power. I am!" Chen confessed and the other elemental masters gasped in shock. I kept my eye on the tray as a kabuki walked from person to person, as I hoped the red paper wouldn't end in the wrong hands.

"But it's all for this staff." Chen continued and clapped his hands. Unexpectedly the kabuki pulled out their fans and got into some weird formation before Chen spoke up once more.

"No, no. Not you, staff! I mean my real staff." He said as a wall on our right opened, revealing the same staff Chen had used to steal Karlof's powers on the first night here. Another kabuki brought it over to Chen as he continued.

"The Staff of Elements. It holds the power of your fallen foes, and soon it'll hold all but one. For the last standing in Tournament my will win this prize and be the greatest fighter ever in the history in Ninjago!" The other elemental masters whispered in excitement amongst them selves before Lloyd stood up and placed his hands on the table.
