Having my bag thrown over the ship and a kid with white whispy hair catch it for me, I stood quietly watching as he scolded the boy with spikey hair.
"Ah, sorry Killua. The barrel must have been really heavy after I let go..." He laughed quietly, scratching at his cheek with a small embarrassed smile.
He was tan, his arms and legs showing off his strength in scars and muscles. He was slightly taller then me, but then again everyone was. I realized he must be Gon.
Killua, on the other hand was very pale, but not quite as white as me or his hair. It looked like someone took a cloud and stuck porcupine needles in it and put it on his head. A firm scowl was placed on his thin lips, and I was surprised to see he had just as many scars as Gon.
"You don't say. Quit bailing on me and help already! You were the one who wanted to pitch in, anyways." He grumbled, his ocean eyes darting over to me.
Gon's freckled face turned to me with honey eyes and a huge smile, sticking his hand out to shake mine.
"I'm Gon, this is my friend Killua! Nice to meet you. That jump was amazing!" I shook his hand, his kindness catching me off guard.
"Gon...ah, well thank you. A lot, actually. I'm more amazed by how far the barrels were from me, and you still managed to catch me just in time." I smile, a little stunned by my realization. He was strong. There was zero question on that. His eyes were kind but hard, he's killed before.
Revenge can do bad things to good people.
He smiles once more, and Killua shoved my bag into my hands, grumbling. He eyed me for a moment, and I realized I haven't thanked him. He...was a killer before...?
"U-um.....thank you, Killua. Both of you saved me back there. If you'd like I can help both of you out with whatever you were doing." I offer, putting my bags to the side and offering to shake his hand.
He hesitates, but finally his hand meets mine. It took a lot for me not to move my hand away from him from the sharp shock that went up my arm, making me wince quietly.
I saw his lip twitch as I let go and he begins to explain that they were moving boxes and barrels out of the ship onto the deck, and I wonder if he did it on purpose.
Can someone really control electricity, though? I ponder for a moment, following Killua and Gon down the ships stairs and bringing up a barrel. The contents lurched when I tried to pick it up, but I didn't want to seem weak. I reinforced the blood in my hands to my shoulder blades with nen and picked up the barrel that was suddenly as light as feathers.
I walked back up with it and continue the process multiple times until we were done, but something seemed to bother Gon and Killua.
I let it go, and we talked about each other and our adventures to our favourite colors and back to nen.
"Ah so I was right! You are an assassin!" I laugh, catching Killua and Gon by surprise.
"Ohhhh how did you know?" Gon asked, leaning forward slightly. We all sat on the boxes and barrels that we brought in a circle.
"Well there's a look in someone's eye after they kill, and yes Gon, even you have it- its hard to explain if you can't see it yourself, but...I just know. That shock that you gave me wasn't anything normal either." I say, grumbling at Killua from my last comment.
They both go quiet, as if remembering who they have killed and I frown slightly. "H-hey... I'm sorry, I made you remember."
"No no its fine! Right, Killua?" He says, his smile smaller then what I've seen so far.
Killua let's himself fall back on the box he was sitting on and merely gave a 'Mhm.' As a reply. "I'm surprised you didn't rip your hand away from the shock." He adds.
"I was more shocked that you could control electricity. Both of you are yet to ask for my name and you guys approached me rather quickly, so I also assume you're friends of Kurapika, right?"
They both nod, and I feel proud that I've gotten at least this much down on them. The looks from the other exam takers have me a bit on edge, though. I take a look around, and find one person in particular that has me eye wide for a moment.
I freeze. My mouth goes dry, and I curse under my breath.
"Sienna? What's wr- Oh, you know Hisoka too, huh?" Gon mumbles, shivering at a possible memory.
I stare Hisoka down for a moment, watching as he shuffles the cards from my family's company. He winks at me, and I turn away. I push him out of my mind, that smile he always wears thrown into the trash. I know that this exam is going to be twice as hard if he somehow pulls the strings on situations that'll make me snap.
I turn back to Killua and Gon, sighing as Killua asks if its true I work for the company that makes those very cards.
I nod, "Yeah. We make all kinds of custom weapons, even the needles for a Zoldyck member sometimes, we've gotten orders of fans and a sword I personally worked on for a member of the Phantom Troupe."
"I always wondered where the hell she got that fan." Killua shrugged, closing his eyes.
I stared at him. "You personally know the Zoldyck's?"
"Killua is a Zoldyck, Sienna!" Gon answered.
I stared at him. "W-WHAT!?" I ask again, leaning forward to Killua who snapped his eyes open.
"Who ordered the fan? Do they like it? Does it work well? What about the swords? Have they complained about anything on th-" He sat up and covered my mouth, cutting me off and spoke over Gon's laughing.
"You're annoying. One question at a time!" He hissed, glaring at me slightly.
"Sorry, sor-EASY!" I scream at whoever behind me threw a small hunting knife at the back of my head. Gon has his hands centimeters away from my arm, as if to push me. I take a shaky breath, my blood pumping much faster much later then my reaction. I lick my lips and let out a cool breath of air as my tongue passes over the back of my teeth.
I stand up, twirling the low quality blade from the leather strap around my finger.
I see everyone staring at a younger looking boy with black, curly hair with the most innocent smile I've seen in a long time. He just sat there on the floor, back to the wall.
"Oho, what happened to children being unable to take the test?" I sneer, throwing the blade at the narrow space of his shoulder and neck, the force of my throw cracking the wood.
I watch a thin red line appear at the side of his throat, and he opens his eyes to smile a little strained at me.
"I could say the same for you." He smirks.
