The story takes place in Plaka, Athens, Greece- Plaka being a neighborhood in Athens. It's the summer of 1981, and you're living with just your mom in Plaka. Jenna travels from her hometown in California to Plaka on a student exchange program for her acting college, California Institute of the Arts. At this time in the world, homosexuality is not accepted/legal in most places. In Greece, it became legal in 1951, and in America, it became legal in 2003. The story is based around having to sneak around to avoid conflict because of the unacceptance of gay people at the time.
* all of the places listed in the stories are real, so I would recommend looking them up.
* I got inspiration for the story from the movie and book Call me by Your Name, so there will be some parallels because the movie is perfect and I love it so much.
