Alex Pov.

As I sit typing away on my computer, I watch Sofia playing nearby. Suddenly, she interrupts me, saying, "Ehm daddy." I look up and make eye contact with her. "I miss my friends," she says, her expression turning sad. I quickly stand up and walk over to her, getting down on her level. "I promise that when this is all over, you'll be back in kindergarten and able to enjoy your friends' company again. But for now, you need to be strong just a little bit longer," I say, hoping to reassure her. Sofia nods, but I can still see the sadness in her eyes. It breaks my heart that she can't do things that other kids her age are doing. Suddenly, Vik appears and asks, "Am I interrupting?" I shake my head and say, "No, we were just having a little chat." Then, Vik asks Sofia if she wants to bake a cake with him, and her eyes light up as she runs over to him. I thank Vik and watch them leave, feeling grateful that Sofia has someone like him to make her smile.

After finishing some work, I notice Noah standing at the door. "Shesh! How long have you been standing there?" I exclaim as he laughs, saying that he's been there a while. "You just looked so concentrated" he jokes before taking a seat next to me. I flip my computer screen down to give him my full attention, and I ask him a question that's been on my mind. "Can I ask you something?" I begin. "Hm?" he responds. "Why are you really helping me this much?"

Noah seems offended, exclaiming, "WOAH! Have you not noticed all my flirting?" I laugh, realizing that I have noticed, but I've been so focused on Me, Sonny, and the new baby that I haven't given it much thought, The new baby situation could be a new start for us, but now however, I'm starting to have doubts about whether that is what I really want. "Alex?" Noah calls out as I take a while to answer. "Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I have noticed, but I have so mu-." Noah interrupts me, understanding that I have a lot on my plate. "It's okay. I know that you have a lot of things going on. I just wanted to make you aware of my intentions. On my side, it was love at first sight, and I always go for what I want." Noah stands up, leaving me dumbfounded. "The rest of that story is up to you," he says before walking out.

As I sat there lost in thought, I realized that it was time to confront Sonny. So, I scheduled a meeting with him, and fortunately, he was available. Before leaving, I informed Vik and Sofia of my departure and drove to the agreed-upon location. The drive felt never-ending as my mind raced with thoughts of how I would confront Sonny.

As I approached him, the wind picked up and caused my blond hair to whip around wildly. I called out his name, and he turned around and greeted me with a smile. However, as soon as he noticed the solemn look on my face, his expression turned serious. I urged him to sit down, and he complied.

"This is a long-overdue conversation," I said as I took a seat across from him. "Tell me everything."

Sonny's response was an unconvincing "Oh?" I grew increasingly frustrated and demanded to know if he had put Sofia in danger. He looked down, and I knew what that meant. I was livid.

"Why? I thought you were smarter than this," I seethed. "I can't believe that you put an innocent child's life at stake because of James. Do you know how foolish that is?"

Sonny admitted that his hatred for James had clouded his judgment and caused him to want to eliminate anything related to him. I took a deep breath and asked if he had planned something against me too. Sonny was shocked that I knew about his past actions.

He confessed that he had been seeking revenge for what he had gone through and had taken advantage of the opportunity when he saw it. I was furious. If you're willing to put someone you love in danger, then that's not love at all.

"Grow up, Sonny. Do something with your life and seek help if you can't overcome your anger," I told him sternly before getting up to leave. Sonny asked about the baby, but I made it clear that if it was mine, I would take care of it. However, Sonny and I were done. I had fought for us, but all he had done was being selfish. I walked away, knowing that no matter what he said, it wouldn't change the fact that we were through.

I sat in my car for a few minutes after leaving the meeting with Sonny, trying to calm myself down before driving back home. My mind was racing with all sorts of emotions and thoughts, and I needed to sort them out before facing Vik and Sofia.

As I drove home, I couldn't help but replay the conversation with Sonny in my head. It was clear to me that our relationship was over, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of betrayal and disappointment. How could he put Sofia in danger just to get back at James? It was a childish and selfish move, and I couldn't forgive him for it.

When I arrived home, Vik and Sofia were waiting for me. Sofia ran up to me and gave me a tight hug, and Vik gave me a sympathetic look. I knew they could sense that something was wrong, but I didn't want to talk about it in front of Sofia.

After putting Sofia to bed, Vik and I sat down in the living room to talk. I explained to him what had happened with Sonny, and he listened patiently. When I finished, Vik put his arm around me and said, "I'm sorry, Alex. That's really tough."

I leaned into him and sighed. "Yeah, it is. But I'm okay. I just need some time to process everything."

Vik nodded. "Of course. Take all the time you need. We're here for you."

I felt grateful for Vik's support, and it made me realize just how lucky I was to have him and Noah  in my life. they was there for me, even when things got tough.

Over the next few days, I tried to focus on spending time with Sofia and getting my work done. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop thinking about Sonny and the way our relationship had ended.

One day, I received a text message from Noah, asking me if I wanted to go for a walk in the park. I hesitated at first, but eventually agreed. I needed to get out of the house and clear my head.

When I met up with Noah, we walked in silence for a while, enjoying the peacefulness of the park. Finally, Noah spoke up.

"I wanted to talk to you about something," he said.

I turned to face him. "What is it?"

Noah took a deep breath. "I know things have been tough for you lately, with Sonny and everything. But I want you to know that I'm here for you, whatever you need."

I smiled at him. "Thanks, Noah. That means a lot."

Noah grinned. "And, well, there's something else I wanted to tell you."

"What is it?"

Noah took another deep breath. "I know this might sound crazy, but...I think I'm falling in love with you, Alex."

I was taken aback by his confession, and for a moment, I didn't know how to respond. But then I realized that I had feelings for him too.

"I think I'm starting to feel the same for you, Noah," I said, and we both smiled.

As we continued our walk, we talked about our feelings for each other and what it would mean for our future. It was scary to think about starting a new relationship after everything that had happened with Sonny, but I knew that I was ready to move on.

When I got home that day, I felt a sense of relief and excitement. For the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful about the future.
