I walk in and pull my mom aside. "Can I talk to you for a minute?" She nods, and we move to the next room. I explain everything to her. "Oh my goodness, that's terrible. Now I understand why I've been seeing some strange men snooping around the neighborhood. Do you think they're after Sofia?" I sigh. "I need to get out of here. I can't stay in a hotel because they might see that I've checked in. And I can't risk putting you in danger, either."

I pull out my phone and see three options. Who should I call?

"Hey, you know you said if I ever needed anything, I could just give you a holler," I said a bit nervously. "I promise to explain everything, and I wouldn't ask if I wasn't serious about it. But can we crash at your place for a while?" I waited for his response.

"Of course!" exclaimed Noah. "I've got plenty of room, and since you're asking, I'm guessing it's serious. I'll send you my address." I thanked him and hung up the phone. In this situation, I wasn't sure who to trust, but I felt like I could trust Noah. I went back to the others. "I found a solution, and we're leaving tonight. I can't risk them finding us." My mom nodded. "I'll help you pack some of Sofia's clothes." Sofia looked at me. "Daddy, where are we going?"

I approached her and looked her in the eyes. "Listen, my beautiful girl, you're a big girl now, so I can tell you that some bad people are after us. But I promise, no matter what, I will keep you safe and make sure no bad people ever lay their hands on you." She smiled. "Daddy's my hero!" she said and hugged me, and I felt a warm feeling inside.

I pulled out my phone and saw that Noah had sent me his address and said we could come over tonight with no problem. Feeling confident, I packed what we needed, and before I knew it, it was getting late. I called a taxi since I didn't want them to track us. "To this address, please," I told the driver, and he nodded. I held Sofia's hand as we rode for 20 minutes until we saw a big gate. "Wow!" exclaimed Sofia. The gate opened, and we saw a big house. "Are we going to stay there?!" asked Sofia excitedly. "Yes, I think so," I replied.

When the taxi stopped, Noah was waiting outside. "Welcome," he said as I opened the door. "Thanks for having us," I replied while helping Sofia out. After getting our bags, we walked inside. "I can't thank you enough," I said to Noah, and he smiled. "No worries, it's nice to have some company. Come inside; I'll show you around." I took Sofia's hand as we walked inside.

"Did you do it?" my boss asked. "Of course, they don't call me one of the best hackers for nothing. The hospital's service security is terrible, so hacking into their data and changing the DNA results was easy," I replied confidently. My boss smirked. "Funny how they think they can win," he said, laughing. "Can I ask?" he looked at me. "Why is this so important? What's so special about Sofia?"

My boss stood up, and I stepped back a bit. "Sofia was the most important thing for James. I won't forgive him for what he did to my sister," he said, looking mad. "What did he do?" I asked, not knowing my limits.

"He killed her. It's his fault that she took her own life," he said, turning back to me. "Once I get my hands on Sofia, I will kill her." I had so many questions I wanted to ask, but I kept quiet, knowing that I would make him mad if I asked too much. "I'll be rewarding you later, Mike," he said to me and left the room. I stood there for a second, thinking, "Hmm, it wouldn't be so bad to be upgraded." I smirked and picked up my phone. "Meet me at the usual place," I sent the message and smiled. What a fool, I thought to myself while going to meet Sonny.

I drove to the place and saw that he arrived early. "Mike," he said when he saw me. "Hop in," I said, and he did. "How's the plan going?" he asked. "Good. Just keep up the act," I replied. He looked down. If I could, I would have laughed. It's weird how jealousy can swallow someone so deeply. "You almost fooled everyone. I'm impressed. I didn't know you could pull it off."

"It wasn't easy, especially fooling David. He knows me well," he said. "Well, you can't fool them forever. What's your plan after this?" He took a moment to think. "I get Alex back, of course." I smiled at him. "Well, you look sweet, but you're so bad, Sonny. I know that you're doing this because 1) you want everything that reminds you of James gone, and 2) to hide your secret affair." He looked shocked. "Heh, didn't think I'd find out? You were planning on scanning Alex, wouldn't you? But after Sofia came in, she ruined it, huh? You would have gotten so much money, wouldn't you? And gone back to your secret lover." Sonny was at a point where he was shaking. "How d-" I interrupted him. "How do I know? Silly Sonny, there's no information I can't hack into myself. Plus, I needed to have something on you in case you backstab me." He tried to control his breathing. "Hey, that's not good for the baby to stress out so much."

I started the car. "If you help me, I'll help you, okay?" He then asked me what I wanted him to do. "Bring me Sofia," I said to him. "He's going to hurt her, right?" he asked. I nodded. "Of course, he's a cruel man." Sonny was a bit hesitant. "Yeah," was all he said. I started driving.
