"Carmen." Petra woke the assassin, they'd been paired together in a room with Nanaba and Lynne from Miche squad because of the new recruits and the rest of the survey corps. "Levi's here to see you." She informed.
"How exhausting." Carmen sighed and stopped doing her pushups, on,y to walk to the door and lean against the frame. "What do you want?" She demanded. "Captain." She added.
"I told you there'd be a price to pay for that stunt the other day. So you'll be training the titan brat." He answered, not having the courtesy to even ask her if she was up to it.
"Training?" She looked at him, her expression was stoic, but inside her head were a mixture of thoughts and worries.
"It's time for training freak." A soldier stated as he dragged a 10 year old girl to the basement of her prison. She wasn't stupid, she knew exactly what training meant.
"No! Please! Please stop!" She begged, trying to claw his grip off her.
When they finally reached the basement, Carmen saw a man, arms chained to the ceiling, dangling on his tiptoes. He was being tortured, likely for information, but then again, this wasn't news, it had happened too many times.
"This is Edwardo. A thief who stole from the wrong pocket. What was it again? A pocket watch? A letter? I can't remember, will you jog my memory?" The guard taunted.
"I didn't steal shit." The victim choked out, clearly in pain.
"That's the wrong answer." The other smiled and reached for his club before striking Edwardo. He continued doing it, until Edwardo finally caved.
"It was a letter." Edwardo spoke.
"See, that wasn't so difficult, was it?" The guard stopped the beating. "Now what did it say?"
"I don't know, really, I didn't look." Edwardo pleaded.
"Brat." The guard looked down at her. "Use this, and do it right or you'll be in his place next." He handed her the club. That's when she learnt how much of a horrific mistake looking into someone's eyes was.
"No please, kid, you don't have to do this." Edwardo focused his attention on her. "You're a good kid. You wouldn't want to hurt me, right? I'm innocent, he's lying to you. Please!"
"Do it."
And she did. She hit him with it, again, and again, and again. Until she decided to give him a break. She'd been taught it before, if she gave him a break from the pain, then he'd get a false sense of security, then she'd start hitting him all over again, multiplying the pain.
"I'll talk okay! Just please stop!"
"Go on." The guard persuaded.
"It said, Stohess, 4th street. House number 108." He revealed. "But that's all I know, it didn't say anything else. There's no need to keep torturing me. I need to go home to my family."
"Of course you do." The guard smiled, hiding his true intentions. "We wouldn't want to keep you from that." He unshackled the man, allowing him to walk freely. "In fact, we'll be sure to aid them in meeting you in the after life."
