Chris continued to drive his SUV down a back road while Gerard, holding The Surgeon's sword-cane, sat in the passenger seat with a smug grin, one that was beginning to piss Chris off.
"You knew, didn't you?" He said with a clenched jaw, his grip on the steering wheel tightening.

"I wasn't certain," he smirked to himself, "but I suspected. Although, it makes sense that Marie-Jeanne's pike would be reforged into something that could appear as innocuous as a cane."

"But will it kill him?" Chris asked, no longer referring to mason but to Sebastian.

"You're damn right it will, but we'll need the girl. She is awakening for a reason, I believe this is why."

"Awakening?" Chris questioned, keeping his eyes on the road.

"I'm well aware of our family's history, and Thea's lineage is apart of that history." Gerard quickly explained as to provide the necessary background information. "Thea has the capability to become the most powerful creature to step foot in beacon hills, more powerful than the beast and the hellhound combined."

"Your point is?"

"Thea isn't fully realised yet, in fact, she's barely scratched the surface of her power. If she takes on the beast now—with the pike of course—she would still likely survive, but the fight may sever the connection she has with that demon, after all the beast is what cause Esme to strike a deal with the demon in the first place."

"Esme is Thea's ancestor?" Chris sighed. "That was important information, why don't you tell me this shit?"

"Your going off track, bigger picture son."

"Fine." He replied. "But Thea's just a kid, why do you want to risk her life for a maybe."

"She not just a kid, she is demon spawn from a bloodline of powerful witches. I know for a fact she will put and end to the beast, the part I don't know is whether her awakening will halt or if she'll die."

"Die? She is a child—"

"If she ever becomes fully realised we'll all be dead. It's a 'two bird one stone' situation." Gerard didn't need to look at his son to know that he doubted him, so he kept on explaining to further prove his point. "Cynthia Jones—Esme's great-granddaughter—was the only one of her kin that came closest to unlocking her true power. It was our ancestors who killed her, But Cynthia took the Argent hunters down with her—along with everyone in her town.
My point is, the power makes them insane. Turns them into these demonic creatures that are too dark, too evil, to be described as monsters."

"Well, she's not that now." He argued, making a left turn at the crossroads. "Besides, we've dealt with the damn Nogitsune and managed to keep Stiles alive."

"Thea isn't a Nogitsune."

"Obviously."

"She'll become something far more deadly."

Chris stayed silent yet his mind was anything but.
His thought raged in his mind, considering if risking Thea's life was worth it.
And he was leaning towards the answer that made him sick.

Gerard finally spoke again, holding Chris's phone, making a light appear on his face at a funny angle. "Parrish lost Sebastian."

"What do we do then? By now he must know that we have the only weapon that can harm him."

"Exactly." Gerard smiled. "That means we don't have to find him. He'll come to us."

Wrapped in her bed sheets Thea scrolled through all of the emails and text messages she had left unread over the last few months.

Some where emails from the school, others were condolence messages from distant relatives, either way, she didn't reply to any.

A message banner appeared on her phone.
Alex.
"Can you come downstairs, we need to talk."

She pulled a random sweatshirt over her head before heading downstairs.

"What's going on?" She asked just before reaching the dining room where she knew he was waiting. "Oh! Keith."

She took a seat at the dining table, which had now always seemed to be covered in pages and books on supernatural lore.
"Where have you been? It's been over a week I would have thought you'd call or something."

"Yeah, sorry about that." He shrugged. "I was trying to find some more information on what you might be but I ran into a wendigo and... you know... I had to kill it."

Thea nodded awkwardly, picking up on the fact that something was off about him.
"Last time I heard from you you said that you something out about me." Thea said. "What was it?"

"Oh, nothing you don't know by now I'm sure. Keith smiled, making it seem unimportant. "I had a run in with Gerard Argent, he knew quite a lot about your family history."

"Why would he know about Thea's family?" Alex asked as he tried to put the loose pieces of paper into semi-organised piles.

"Probably because it's all intertwined." Thea said, which had seemed to have caught Keith's attention.

"How so?" He asked, turning so that he was using the back of the chair as an arm rest as he faced her her.

Thea waited a moment before answering, staring at Keith while she tried to figure out why he sounded amused by Thea's statement.
"My ancestors, the argents ancestors, the Beast, our histories are all intertwined."

Keith nodded along to her words.
"Maybe they know more than us." He said with a shrug. "I mean, that's their history and they seem to keep it well documented. I don't know, maybe it's best if you try to talk to Gerard about all this— or at least Chris."

"I thought you said you already spoke with him." Thea said, wearing a forced, confused pout. "Shouldn't you already know?"

"Thea, I was dealing with a wendigo. Gerard and Chris happened to be there too and you came up in conversation." He sighed, holding back the urge to roll his eyes. "We were a little preoccupied to be focused on your issues."

Thea gave him a slight nod before rising from her chair as if to say "whatever"
"I'm glad your back, Keith." She said before walking back up to her room, about to get ready to leave as she was told a new plan that she had no protest in following.
