Flashback 2 Weeks ago~

"I LOVE YOU MORE ANTHONY BRIDGERTON" Says my pregnant wife before she and Mr. Hargreaves jumped into the water. Within a split second, they were no longer in front of us. 

"Addison" I called out "Addison" I yelled again about to jump into the water 

"Brother" Benedict calls as I was about to jump in to the water 

"No, No,NO" I cried 

"She left" Says Benedict pulling me back 

"Leave me alone" I say shrugging him off of me

"Bridgerton, calm down... she will be back" Simon says 

"How do you know that?" I questioned hysterically "How do you know she wouldn't go back to whatever the 21st century is and forget about me?" 

"Excuse me brother, but that wife of yours loves you. She's carrying your child, it's very unlikely that she forgets the imbecile that impregnated her" Scoffs Benedict "If it's the last thing she's going to do it's return here to this time... just to see you-"

Flashback Ends

"Anthony" Says mother, pulling me out of my thoughts 

"Yes mother?" 

"I asked what happened to keeping the books?" She questioned "You have been sitting here for the past four hours just starring" 

"Oh. Uhm they are already finished for the rest of the year" I state clearing my throat 

"You've done it all already?" She asked seeming surprised 

"Addison did"

"Now that's more understandable. I doubt there is anything that she can't do" Mum said with a smile on her face 

"There's quite a few things my darling girl couldn't do... well on her own" I chuckled

"She'll be back before you know it. In the main time, a few of us made her a promise... and it is our intention to keep them. We have dinner to attend, at Lady Danbury's this evening." She said about to leave 

"I'm not going" I shaking my head 

"It wasn't a question, go get ready" She said stopping short. 

Knowing this is a battle I'm bound to lose, I just got up and went to my room to wash up.

"Good evening Lord Bridgerton" Says Lady Danbury with a smile "It's very good to see you"

"It's good to see you as well" I smiled embracing her 

"Everyone is already seated, we were just waiting on you" She said "So how have you been holding up?"She asked 

"Not so well, but I do hope she returns rather soon" I said just as we entered the dining hall 

It was just my family, and Lady Danbury. I thought there would have been a few more people here, but I'm truly happy for it to be just us. I haven't been in public really since she left. 

"Are we all set for dinner now?" Asks Benedict 

"I mean, our guest of honor showed up after all" chuckles Eloise 

Lady Danbury tapped her knife against her glass and a few seconds later, servants came in placing food trays in front of everyone. I looked around the table as everyone looked up at me. 

"What are we waiting for?" I questioned 

"Well for you to say grace" Shrugged Collin 

"She left her mark on you all didn't she?" I chuckled at the thought of my wife's face if I were to begin eating without saying grace

"He laughed... a genuine one for the first time in weeks" Says mother 

Shaking my head, I smiled before gracing the food. After grace we all began to eat. I looked around at the table and seen most of Addison's favorites were prepared.

It's ironic though, since she was pregnant most things she liked eating she could hardly stomach it.

"Slow down brother, there's more where that came from" Says Benedict causing me to chuckle

"Anthony you eat however much, after all you must be famished." My mum interjected

"How are you?" Whispered Daphne

"I'm alright" I answered

"Truthfully" She says giving me a knowing look

"It was bad in the beginning, but knowing Addison, she would be upset if she sees how small I've become. It's not good but it's getting better"

"I have this gut feeling, she'll return soon" Daphne smiles and I too believe her 

After dinner, we stayed for a while conversing about what had taken place over the course of the past two weeks. Just as I was about to leave, I was stopped: 

"I have something for you" Says Lady Danbury holding out a journal "This is where Addison wrote her entries" she said "I think it would be best if you read them alone... I only read one since I thought it was well personal" She said as I stood there dumbfounded 

"Thank you; I am truly grateful" I said to her as I held onto the journal "I shall see you all at home" I said to my family before exiting Lady Danbury's home

After safely securing the journal, I went to the stable and got my ride which was Jacks... I had to keep her, anything to make me feel closer to my Addison. 

"Home girl" I said as she kicked and sprinted out of the yard and onward home. Jacks made it home in half the time it took us to get here. It was almost as if she knew I had something important to do, and I did. 

I found my way to my dimly lit bed chamber, and quickly pulled the journal out of my coat. Kicking my shoes to the side, I sat at the edge of the bed and stared  at the book. 

"Just read it already Viscount" I could hear her voice whisper as if it was a hallucination 

As I opened the journal, out fell a small paper. I placed the journal on the bed and began to read it.

I can't believe I actually told someone about myself. I told the Viscount. I tried to stay as far away from him as possible. He's a player, manwhore, or as they would call it a RAKE. I know myself, if I don't stay away from him I'll end up being a conquest to him, while I've never had any sexual relations with a man before, every time I'm in the Viscount's presence, my heart jumps a little and I know giving the chance it'll betray me and fall for him. He's the most attractive man I have ever laid eyes upon... Aside from Chris Hemsworth. Through the few encounters we had, if only I ever admit it here, I think I like the Viscount but I know he doesn't see me as anything other than a girl who always bickers. 

I smiled at the small paper in my hands.
