Scavenger Hunt

Jade's POV

That had to be the best damn breakfast I have ever had I can't believe Tori put so much effort into showing me she cares. Everyone else including her had scrambled eggs and toast which look phenomenal to say the least. My coffee was perfect and all I could do was smile and do a happy dance in my head. It's a good thing nobody can read my mind or I would be screwed. I eat slowly so I don't have to be around Beck so once everyone walks away I lean in and kiss Vega on the cheek.

"Thank you that was amazing." I tell her.

"You're welcome I'm sorry I'm not able to give an immediate answer but I will soon I promise." She kisses my cheek and takes our dishes to be washed.

"Hey you want to go for a short walk to give Sikowitz a chance to come back?" I ask.

"I would love to." She answers.

After we finish cleaning up since Tori did all the cooking I grabbed her hand and started towards a waterfall I found on the map. I asked André to keep Beck busy so we could make a clean get away. About 15 minutes in I stop and look around just to make sure we were alone. I just wanted time for me and her no interruptions. I wanted to continue to hold her hand but I didn't want to push her if she was uncomfortable.

"Hey Vega! Can I um... possibly hold your hand?" I ask.

Without saying anything she reached over and took my hand in hers and intertwined our fingers. It felt so amazing I can't believe she nonchalantly just took my hand with a smile. Of course she was probably just as red as me. Another 20 minutes and I stop and put a blind fold on her eyes. Once to the perfect spot I held her from behind. Told her she could look. She had stars in her eyes the smile just proved I picked the right spot. We stayed for about an hour just talking it was perfect just like her.

"So I know this is lame, but you want to play a game to get to know each other?" I asked.

"Sure you go first." She said.

"What do you like to do hobby wise?" I inquired.

"Well I love to cook, go hiking, going fishing with my dad. You know I think he would like you a lot." She said.

"Why do you say that?" I asked.

"Because you're strong willed, and love just as hard as you want to be loved, you speak your mind even if it's not totally nice." She said.

"What would you like to ask?" I asked.

"Why me? What about me made you fall for me?" She asked

"The truth is everything about you, your personality, your eyes, how sweet and kindhearted you are." I said.

"You would give the shirt off you back even if you had to go without, you never once gave up on trying to get me to be your friend." I said.

"You are the most beautiful person I have met inside and out." I told her.

We went on like that for awhile but continued to ask questions on the way back to camp. Along the way we ended up running into Sikowitz and we talked about today's activity. I'm not going to lie it actually sounds like fun. I like scavenger hunts my mom always did them for my birthdays. I can't help the smile on my face so of course I want to be teamed with my favorite person but she probably wants to team up with André I hope not. By the time we get back its already lunch time and the guys decide on pizza. Sounds good to me I just wish Beck would stop staring me and glaring daggers at Tori.

I look over at Tori doing something on her phone but I'm not nosey enough to ask. If she wanted to tell me she would. Right I mean I would tell her everything. My phone dings so I look.

Text from Tori

Tori: Would you stop overthinking things I see smoke coming from your ears.
Jade: How do you know I'm overthinking things?
Tori: You act like I don't know you at all. 🤣🤣🤣
Jade: Okay fine I was overthinking and slightly second guessing myself don't judge me.
Tori: I judge all the time what you going to do about it. 🤣😏😝
Jade: Are you sure you really want to ask that question just remember who you're talking to.
Tori: Oh trust me I know who I'm talking to but please do show me or are you chicken.
Jade: You better start running now because your mine if I get my hands on you.
Tori: Bring it on. 😏🤭

I took one step towards Tori I heard her Yelp and giggle. Did she just yell shit and run from me. Oh she is so going to get it. I take off running after her she is so mine once I get my hands on her. Vega this is your end. I quickly catch up with her and wrapped my arms around her waist and started tickling her side. As she gasps for air between laughing and telling me to stop. I stop and sit on the ground next to her I still have one arm across her lap and I lean in and kiss the tip of her nose.

"I warned you next time who knows what will happen." I told her as I laughed.

Tori's POV

That was absolutely fun her chasing me like that I couldn't stop laughing but when she grabbed me it took me by surprise. I mean I'm not fast but I still had a good start before she started coming for me. It took everything in me not to ask her to be mine forever right here and now. But that will wait for later tonight. I stood up and reached my hand out to help Jade. We walked back to camp thankfully food was ready. We sat at the table Jade on the end away from Beck since he thought he was smooth I sat in front of him instead. All he could do was glare at me and I just smirked to piss him off.

"Okay what was that all about Tori, why did you run away from Jade?" Cat asked

"Well Jade here told me to run after a text I sent her and I figured it would be in my best interest to do as she said." I said in all honesty.

Cat just started laughing and Jade choked on her drink as I chuckled to myself. After eating myself, Jade and Cat cleaned up really fast so that we could get the scavenger hunt started.

"Alright boys and girls today's activity is a scavenger hunt you can choose you partners. You have 6 hours whichever team finishes last has to do all the cleaning for 3 days." He said.

I seen Beck walking towards Jade so I grabbed her hand said your my partner right. Instant smile on her face made my stomach fill with butterflies. Beck stopped in front of Jade and told her she was his partner. I looked him in the eyes.

"To late Beck she is my partner and I do believe I told you to leave her the fuck alone. How hard is it for you to learn." I said seething in anger.

His eyes went wide and turned around fast and went the other direction. Teams ended up being André and Beck per my request, Robbie and Cat, then me and Jade. I gave notes to Cat and André told Cat to fill Robbie in, but keep Beck in the dark for now. I took jade by the hand and took off towards the waterfall since it was the first on the list 35 minutes we get a picture with the waterfall. The second was the tree growing out of a rock, third was the ranger station which was easy got the pictures.

With only 5 things left to find it took us a total of 2 hours but the last was tricky but thankfully Sikowitz has plenty to pick from. Why add a coconut him and his weird obsession. Back at camp we take one of his coconuts and show him proof of our findings. I need a nap but I'm not leaving Jade by herself so I asked if she wants to hang out in my tent. We play a card game but unfortunately I'm so damn tired my eyes start to close. I mumbled to Jade.

"It's your fault I'm tired I wanted to make you a special breakfast so I didn't sleep last night because I was to excited." I told her.

"Then lay down I will set an alarm for us because I'm going to lay down as well I will see you when we wake up." She tells me before standing up

"No stay please there is plenty of room I will share my blanket." I say.

"Okay you win I will stay but I'm not sleeping in jeans." She said.

So I gave her a pair of my sweat pants and she changed once I rolled over to give her privacy. As soon as she climbed into bed I put my arm over her waist and pulled her close to my chest. Without a fight she snuggled as close as she could and we fell asleep pretty fast. I have never been able to sleep so fast. This feeling is the best feeling ever I felt like I was on cloud 9. Please when I wake up don't let this be a dream.
